Xinjiang Agricultural University is a public multi-disciplinary agricultural college affiliated to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, formerly known as Xinjiang Bayi Agricultural Reclamation College, which was founded in August 1952.
The school campus headquarters covers an area of 1500 mu. The campus environment is elegant and quiet, with trees and grass, and rows of teaching buildings are hidden among the trees, which is known as "garden-style units".
After 54 years of construction and development, Xinjiang Agricultural University has a staff of 1 627, including 826 teachers, 83 professors and 29 associate professors. Among the teachers, 89 have senior titles and 369 have deputy senior titles. With agronomy, forestry, animal medicine, water conservancy and civil engineering, mechanical transportation, economy and management, humanities and social sciences, horticulture, food science, grass engineering, animal science, resources and environment, computer and information engineering, foreign languages, chemical engineering, mathematics, Chinese language, pharmacy, higher vocational education, international education and other colleges and sports departments. The school has now formed a modern higher education system which focuses on undergraduate education and combines doctoral and master's education with higher vocational education, education for overseas students, adult education, management cadres and continuing education. Nearly 60,000 university graduates have been sent to the autonomous region and the mainland, and nearly 1,000 graduate students have been trained. At present, there are more than 20,000 students in various schools, including more than 6000 undergraduate and vocational students/kloc-0, more than 6000 doctoral and master students/kloc-0, and more than 3000 adult education students.
In terms of discipline construction, the school has formed a pattern in which agriculture is the mainstay and agriculture, science, engineering, economics, management and literature intersect. At present, there are postdoctoral research mobile stations 1, first-class doctoral degree authorization points 1, 6 doctoral degree authorization points in two disciplines, 2 master degree authorization points in first-class disciplines, 33 master degree authorization points in two disciplines, 4 professional degree authorization points and 49 undergraduate majors. At the same time, there are autonomous region-level key laboratories 1 each, autonomous region-level key disciplines 5, university-level key laboratories 15, key research institutes 18 and university-level laboratories 54. The school has also established a foreign language and cultural exchange center and a national key construction base for vocational education teacher training.

Scientific research has won more than 80 provincial and ministerial awards/kloc-0. Among them, "China Merino Sheep New Variety Breeding (Xinjiang)" won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress; "Funnel full sand discharge technology and its application" won the first prize of scientific and technological progress in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the second prize of national scientific and technological progress; "Disease-resistant watermelon and seedless watermelon strains" won the third prize of national scientific and technological progress; The "Ninth Five-Year Plan" national key scientific and technological project "Research, development and demonstration of comprehensive supporting technologies for large-area and high-yield cotton" won the first prize of scientific and technological progress in the autonomous region; There are 15 forage varieties approved in our region, of which 13 are cultivated by our school. 10 years, school teachers have published more than 5 academic papers and more than 550 books (teaching materials) in domestic and foreign journals.
The school attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and has established cooperative relations with nearly 20 universities and academic institutions in the United States, Japan, Australia, Russia and other countries 10, hired more than 300 foreign experts to give lectures and cooperate in scientific research, and sent more than 300 teachers and graduate students abroad to study and exchange and attend international academic conferences.
The school also has an area of nearly 70,000 mu of practice forest farm, 4,000 mu of experimental farm, more than 20 practice fields (factories) and off-campus production practice bases. The school has complete teaching facilities such as teaching building, laboratory building, library, auditorium, student apartment and student canteen, with a total construction area of more than 400,000 square meters.
