The adults of striped cabbage worm are similar to pests of different sizes. It is about 7-8 mm long, 4-5 mm wide and round. The body color of striped bug is a combination of orange and black, with little hair. Hair has two tentacles, the tentacles are black, and the ends are shrunk by a third. There is a cross-shaped yellow pattern in the middle of the body, a smooth red spot in the middle, and a yellow curl in the front of the body. Larvae are divided into five age groups. 1 instar larvae are about 1- 1.2mm long, 0.8- 1mm wide, with orange-yellow body, pale yellow antennae from 1 node to 3 nodes, dark gray abdomen, yellow abdomen, 7 black spots of different sizes in the middle of abdomen, and 7 black spots in the tail.
The chest is black, the side is white with wide edges, there are three orange triangular patches on the back plate, the small shield on the body extends backwards, the legs are black, the feet are yellow, and there are 1 large black spots on the back. The 4th instar larva is about 3-5 mm long and 3 mm wide, with a mushroom-shaped back, triangular sides of the body, yellow spots on both sides of the abdomen, an arc-shaped back similar to an adult, and wavy front and rear edges. The 5th instar larva is about 5-6 mm long and 3-4 mm wide. Its head, chest and tentacles are all black, with a triangular yellow spot on its head and three burgundy on its chest and back.
