Four-color printing mode is a kind of color registration mode used in color printing. By using the principle of three-color mixing of pigments and black ink, a total of four colors are mixed and superimposed to form the so-called "full-color printing". The four standard colors are:

C: Cyan = cyan, also known as' sky blue' or' blue' M: Magenta = magenta, also known as' magenta'; Y: yellow = yellow; K: Black = black. Although some literatures explain that K here should be Key Color, it is actually confused with the concept of positioning registration used in plate making. The abbreviation here uses the last letter K instead of the first letter B because B has been given to the Blue color of RGB in overall colorimetry.

Gray-purple (mysterious), subtractive color (CMYK), an overview of what CMYK is. CMYK, also known as printing color mode, is used for printing as its name implies. Compared with RGB, it has a big difference: RGB mode is a luminous color mode, and you can still see the contents on the screen in a dark room; CMYK is a color mode that relies on reflection. How do we read the contents of newspapers? It is the sunlight or light that shines on the newspaper and then reflects into our eyes to see the content. It needs an external light source. If you are in a dark room, you can't read the newspaper. As long as the image displayed on the screen is in RGB mode. As long as the image is seen in printed matter, it is expressed in CMYK mode. For example, periodicals, magazines, newspapers, posters, etc. are all printed, so it is CMYK mode. The difference between CMYK and spot color 1, CMYK-cyan, magenta (magenta), yellow and black, which can usually reproduce thousands of other colors in printing;

2, spot color-spot color ink refers to a kind of pre-mixed specific color ink (or special pre-mixed ink), used to replace or supplement printing color (CMYK) ink, such as bright orange, green, fluorescent color, metallic gold and silver ink, etc., or can be bronzed, concave-convex version, etc., can also be used as a local glossy version, etc., it is not mixed by CMYK four colors, each spot color is in. Attachment: Spot color-refers to printing this color with a specific ink instead of printing CMYK four colors. The reason for adding black: cyan, magenta and Huang San are also the three primary colors of art. In theory, three colors can be mixed into black, but in reality, due to the limitation of production technology, the purity of ink is often unsatisfactory, and the mixed black is not rich enough, so it can only be mixed by purified black. In addition, it can also save ink consumption. If there is no black ink, the black part in a picture is mixed with the same amount of CMY into black. If there is black, you can directly use black to reduce the amount of ink used. Cyan (Cyan) M. Magenta Y. Yellow K. blacK) CMYK model For the printing media, that is, based on the light absorption/reflection characteristics of ink, the color seen by the eyes is actually the color that the object absorbs light of a specific frequency in white light and reflects the rest light. Each CMYK four-color ink can use a value from 0 to 100%. The percentage of process ink color specified for the brightest color is low, while the percentage specified for the darker color is high. For example, bright red may contain 2% cyan, 93% magenta, 90% yellow and 0% black. Color picker -RGB (additive color) and CMY (subtractive color) in PS are complementary colors. RGB is added with black as the background color, that is, both RGB are 0 and black, and both RGB are 255 and white. CMY takes white as the background color, that is, CMY is all white and all 100% is black (but in practice, due to the purity of ink and other problems, pure black cannot be obtained, so K is introduced). In PS, CMYK mode should be used when preparing to print images with printing colors. If you start with an RGB image, you'd better edit it first and then convert it to CMYK mode. If the picture output in RGB mode is printed directly, the actual color of the printed matter will be quite different from the RGB preview color.
