There are many types of cholesterol. The normal total cholesterol for adults is 2.86~5.98mmol/L; low-density lipoprotein cholesterol: about 3.1mmol/L for middle-aged and elderly people, and it is significantly higher if it is greater than 4.14mmol/L. High-density lipoprotein cholesterol is 0.9~1.83mmol/L.
For patients with elevated total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, they should promptly change their diet structure, adopt a low-fat diet, and eat more vegetables, fruits, whole grains and other foods containing more fiber. Control your weight, quit smoking and drinking, and exercise appropriately. Depending on the increase in blood lipids, decide whether to use blood lipid-lowering drugs. Don't take medicine blindly by yourself.
