How to plant lotus root in pot?
1, select the time

Every plant has its own growth cycle and time. It is generally chosen to plant lotus roots around March every year. In spring, the weather begins to get warmer, and the sunshine will not be too strong, which can not only make the lotus root grow new buds, but also prevent the sun from hurting the lotus root.

2. Select seedlings

Generally, the varieties of lotus seeds sold in the market are no problem, and their growth adaptability and yield are good. When we choose lotus root seedlings, we mainly choose seedlings with new lotus root buds at the tail, preferably with roots on the lotus root nodes. Fresh and watery lotus root seedlings are more likely to survive, and they are prone to blackening and wrinkling when left out of water for too long. Try not to buy such seedlings.

Step 3 prepare pot soil

Considering the general volume of lotus root seedlings, you should choose a large-caliber bucket or water tank with a diameter of more than 70 cm when preparing the flowerpot. In addition, the requirements of lotus root seedlings on soil are not high, as long as there is mud. But for crops, fertile soil is needed, and lotus root is no exception.

4, planting lotus root seedlings

The above three tasks are ready, and pots, soil and lotus seedlings are all ready, so you can plant them. The first step in planting lotus root is to dig a planting pit. The depth and area of the pit depend on the size of the lotus seedlings, and the final effect is to expose the new lotus buds of the lotus seedlings to the soil surface. Proper depth can not only effectively protect lotus root seedlings, but also make them grow better.

5. Placement position

After the lotus root seedlings are planted, we need to put the potted plants in a sunny and ventilated place, and photosynthesis is conducive to growth. It is worth noting that newly planted lotus roots should not be exposed to strong sunlight to avoid damaging new buds.

Step 6 water regularly

Lotus root grows in silt, so we should always observe the wettability and water quantity of basin soil. When there is basically no water on the mud in the basin, pay attention to adding it, but don't add too much water at a time, as long as the exposed part is not flooded.
