Chrysanthemum indicum is better than Chrysanthemum indicum and Huang Ju in bitter cold, and is good at clearing away heat. It is generally used to treat furuncle, carbuncle, headache, dizziness, red eyes and swelling. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Flos Chrysanthemi Indici has the effect of clearing away heat and toxic materials, but it is widely used in modern clinic to treat carbuncle, sore, eczema, cervicitis, prostatitis, anal sinusitis and so on. Here are some commonly used prescriptions: 15g of honeysuckle, forsythia, wild chrysanthemum and selfheal, 9g of bamboo leaves, mint, platycodon grandiflorum and Arctium lappa, 18g of reed rhizome and 3g of licorice, which can be cured by decocting in water for three times. The swelling and pain of red eyes caused by wind and fire can be treated with 15 grams of Flos Chrysanthemi Indici, 15 grams of Flos Lonicerae, 9 grams of Flos Buddlejae, and 6 grams of Prunella vulgaris, and the decoction can be used orally or externally to fumigate the eyes. 6 grams of Flos Chrysanthemi Indici for preventing colds, encephalitis and whooping cough, soaked in boiling water for 2 minutes and fried for 3 minutes, instead of drinking tea.
