What kind of animal is a horse monkey
It is a monkey, mammal. It is a genus of monkeys in the narrow-nosed group of monkeys in the suborder Apes of the order Primates. The body is stout, body length 61-81 centimeters, tail short thick, 5.2-7.6 centimeters long; shoulder height 50.8 centimeters. It can weigh up to 54 kilograms. The head is large and long, with one bony protuberance on each side of the nasal bone, on which there are longitudinally arranged ridge-like protuberances, with grooves between them, covered with green skin, and bright red between the ridges. Males have about 6 major furrows on each side, the red part of which extends around the snout and muzzle. This particular pattern of bright colors resembles a ghost, hence the name mandrill. There are two species, the mandrill and the black-faced mandrill, which are found in equatorial Africa. The black-faced mandrill has a black face with only two grooves on the bony protuberances. Buttock callus and its surrounding skin are lavender, which is due to the rich blood vessels, when excited, this color is more obvious.
