Corn is a good choice for nesting and fishing. Its solid shape, convenient nesting and simple hook are one of the favorite baits for many fishermen. Because of its solid shape, it will not be atomized even after entering the water, which can greatly reduce the situation of small fish making nests, and the effect of keeping fish is also very good.
Personally, I often fish grass carp, herring, pout, bream and carp in summer and autumn, all of which eat corn. Earthworms are the universal bait in meat bait, so corn is the universal bait in vegetable bait. Because of its high spectrum, fishermen in the north and south will use corn as bait.
So how can we use such good corn for fishing? What are the skills of nesting and fishing? Let me talk about some of my skills in using corn to make nests and fish.
Corn nesting skills Corn nesting also has certain skills. Of course, there are old corn and young corn, so which of them is better? What are their characteristics?
1, old corn
Old corn is sun-dried corn. This kind of corn is hard, which is not very convenient to hook, but it has many benefits when used to make nests. Old corn can effectively avoid some small miscellaneous fish, because the mouth of small fish is usually small, while the old corn is large and hard, so the small fish can't eat at all.
We need to soak the old corn for more than 24 hours when making a nest. The reason for soaking is that it is difficult to sink to the bottom of the water because the old corn is light after drying, and some corn that is not full may still float on the water, so we can effectively solve the problem of corn floating on the water.
After the old corn is soaked, if we are fishing for large fish, then we need to put some rice washing water after sealing and ferment it in the shade for a few days, because this fermented sour taste is a very good choice for catching big fish. After the old corn is soaked soft, the fish will digest better and there will be no bloating. If you directly use old corn to make a nest, the fish will swell up after eating it, and then swim away after eating it for a while, which is very unfavorable for us to fish and keep the fish.
You should know that fish have no stomachs, and they are all straight intestines, so eating old corn is easy to cause bloating, and it is easy to get full. If you want to leave fish in our den, we need to soak and cook old corn. Moreover, if it is dry corn, the speed of making nests will be very slow, which is not conducive to our short-term fishing, because maybe we will close our poles and leave before the nests are made.
2. Young corn
The tender corn is fast and easy to digest, which is a good choice for us to go fishing and nest in a short time. Tender corn is tender and juicy. When we use tender corn to make a nest, we can cut the corn in half with a knife, so that the juice of the corn will seep out, and this fresh and sweet juice is very attractive to fish.
We'd better choose yellow for tender corn, which is more effective in attracting fish. Of course, we can also choose to use the canned corn sold in the supermarket, which is also made of tender corn, and it also has a good effect of trapping fish. We should make sure that young corn is fresh when we use it to make a nest.
The effect of young corn on attracting fish is better than that of old corn, so the time of nesting is faster, but the effect of keeping fish is not as good as that of old corn, so we can also mix a little old corn when using young corn to nest, which has better effects on attracting fish and keeping fish. Small fish can't eat tender corn, but slowly eating it will also lead to the corn being chewed up, which will consume most of the tender corn.
Corn fishing skills To fish with corn, we should first hang the corn on the hook, so how to hang the corn is more scientific? In fact, the hanging method of corn is also very important. If it is not hung correctly, there may be a phenomenon of blocking the mouth and running fish.
There are many ways to hook corn, and I say a few are typical ones that I often use.
Single-grain hanging method can be used to fish medium-sized fish, such as fish with pout and bream. These two kinds of fish are not too big, so single-grain corn is easier to be swallowed in the mouth. Although the mouth of pout is big, its attack hit rate is relatively low, so single-grain corn is more likely to be hit by it.
Sometimes when fishing, if a single corn is big, I will cut it in half and use half a corn to fish. We can't judge by too objective conditions, and sometimes experience is very important.
Multi-grain hanging method can be used to fish herring, grass carp, carp and other fish species. These fish are relatively large, so it is easier to attract their attention with multi-grain corn, and it is easy to eat our bait when eating nest materials. If we also use corn for nesting, then we can effectively increase the chances of fish finding the bait and eating it by using the multi-grain hanging method.
Sometimes fishing friends don't know if there will be such a problem, that is, when we use corn to fish, there will always be a situation in which the sub-line is entangled. In fact, this situation will always appear when I use corn to fish. After a long time of analysis, I learned that it is caused by this corn hanging method.
If the corn is hung incorrectly, the resistance of the corn under water will be very great when we lift the pole. At this time, the resistance of the corn will cause our sub-lines to rotate under water and finally intertwine with each other. So is there any way to avoid this? There is a way, we just need to hang the corn like this to solve it.
This hanging method is simple and fast, and it is not easy to cause fish to run away when stabbing fish. Moreover, when we lift the pole to stab fish, the sub-line will not be twisted and bent underwater, so I recommend this hanging method for corn hanging. I like to use this hanging method to fish grass carp, bream and pout. I usually use this hanging method mainly to float. The big head on the top can effectively solve the problem of corn resistance under water when we lift the pole, and the winding of the sub-line can be avoided if the resistance is small.
It is said that at the end, there are so many skills of corn fishing and nesting. Friends who like fishing can try it. Autumn is the best season to use corn fishing, so don't miss it.
