Each year, sacrificial activities are mainly held on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, but the time is not fixed. In the south, people also have the tradition of offering sacrifices on July 14th. In some places, ancestor worship rituals begin at the beginning of July. The ancestors are brought home at night, and then three meals a day are served until the end of July.
The Hungry Ghost Festival originated from Taoism, and later Buddhism was changed to what is now commonly known as the Ghost Festival. It originated from the story of Mu Lian saving his mother. The entrance immediately turned into a blazing flame.
