Tips for making spiced beef jerky
● batching ●●

(for two)

Beef 500g

Sugar/honey 25g

Coconut soy sauce 30ml

Spiced powder 10g

●● How to do it ●●

1| Soak 500g fresh beef tenderloin in clean water 1 hr, then take it out, cut it into pieces with a thickness of about 5mm along the texture of the meat, and blot the surface moisture of the meat with kitchen paper.

2| Add honey (or sugar), coconut soy sauce and spiced powder to the cut beef, grab it evenly and marinate it for more than 20 minutes until it tastes delicious.

3| Spread the salted beef on a flat plate, put it in a microwave oven and heat it for 2 minutes, then take it out and turn it over, and heat it for about 1 minute until the edge of the beef is slightly scorched. Take it out and let it cool.

Gluten-free coconut soy sauce can be bought at the fruit and fruit store.

●● Tips ●●

1| This snack is completely gluten-free. The soy sauce is gluten-free coconut soy sauce (TB search: avocado fruit organic food), honey can be replaced by ordinary white sugar (sugar can be put more, beef eats sugar very much), and spiced powder is ground from spices such as Amomum tsaoko, and does not contain ingredients that Hashimoto should not eat, such as pepper.

2| The whole piece of beef is soaked in water to remove blood. After slicing, it is no longer soaked in water, but it is drained with kitchen paper. The purpose is not to lose the flavor of beef. Fresh beef tenderloin (preferably whole lean meat, no fat) should be used.

3| When slicing the meat, cut it along the texture of the meat. You can cut it into slices or strips, or you can cut it into beef granules, but be careful not to cut it too small, because the beef will shrink after heating.

4| It is normal that a large amount of water will come out of beef jerky during heating. During heating, you can turn the jerky over or adjust the outside jerky to the middle (the center will be easier to dry than the periphery when heating in the microwave oven).

5| The heating time of the microwave oven is for reference only. It is best to adjust it according to the firepower of your own microwave oven and your favorite taste. You can heat it minute by minute to check the heat. I like the chewy but not very dry taste, so the beef jerky just made will be a little wet and just right after cooling. If it is heated until there is no moisture at all, the beef jerky will become dry, hard and brittle after cooling.
