Golden pomfret belongs to the genus Pomfret, Perciformes, the scientific name is Pomfret ovata, and the common name is Pomfret. The fish body is flat and oval, and the length of the gluteal fin is slightly equal to the length of the second dorsal fin.

The golden pomfret is oval, and its height is 1.7~ 1.9 times. Its tail handle is short and thin, its side is flat, its head is small, its height is greater than its length, its nose and mouth are blunt, and its front end is truncated. The mouth is small and slightly inclined, and the mouth crack begins at the lower horizontal line.
The blue belly of the blue head is silver, and there are no black spots on the side of the blue snapper. The edge of the blue snapper is light black, and the pectoral fin is wider and shorter than the forked caudal fin of the head. Except for the scales behind the eyes, the head is exposed. Scales on the body and chest are buried under the skin. The second echo has a low-scale sheath, and the thin star in front of the lateral line is wavy.
The head side is flat, the tail handle is thin, and the body is covered with small round scales, which is not easy to peel off. Golden pomfret is one of the rare marine economic fish in the southern coast of China. Its meat is white and tender and delicious. Artificial propagation was successful in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Taiwan Province and Hainan, and the breeding technology was relatively mature.
