Trichosanthes kirilowii: The fruit is oval, with a length of116 mm, a width of 6 ~ 12 mm and a thickness of 2 ~ 3.5 mm. The eighteen years of Compendium of Materia Medica indicated that Fructus Trichosanthis has the effects of moistening lung dryness, reducing fire, treating cough, eliminating phlegm, quenching thirst, facilitating defecation and eliminating carbuncle, swelling and sore. Stir-fried Fructus Trichosanthis seeds: "tonify fatigue, dry mouth, moisten heart and lungs, treat hematemesis, diarrhea due to intestinal wind, red and white dysentery, and wrinkles on hands and faces". Trichosanthes kirilowii seeds contain fatty oil, which contains many sterols. Trichosanthes contains many kinds of amino acids and alkaloids. Animal experiments show that Trichosanthes kirilowii has a certain inhibitory effect on sarcoma, and 1: 5 Guawei decoction can kill ascites cancer cells in mice in vitro (slide method). The anti-cancer effect of Trichosanthes kirilowii bark in vitro is better than that of Trichosanthes kirilowii kernel, and the 60% ethanol extract has the strongest effect. The white amorphous powder obtained from the ether extract of Trichosanthes kirilowii also has anticancer effect in vitro.
