Slugs, also known as slugs, are nontoxic mollusks. Therefore, it will not harm the human body. Ordinary slugs are like snails without shells. The length of adult extension is 30 ~ 60mm, and the width is 4 ~ 6mm. The inner shell is 4 mm long and 2.3 mm wide. Long spindle-shaped, soft and smooth, with no shell, and the body surface is dark black, dark gray, yellowish white or grayish red.
Two pairs of antennae are dark black, and the next pair is shorter, about 65438±0mm, which is called the front antenna and has sensory function; The upper pair is about 4 mm long and is called the rear antenna, with eyes at the end.
Slugs have an obvious aversion to sunlight. At sunrise, slugs move and crawl at the fastest speed, moving 65 cm every 15 minutes, and quickly sneak into the dark to hide. In a dark room, active feeding can be carried out day and night.
Slugs often start to move at night, and the feeding peak of slug activity is from 23: 00 to 3: 00 at night. From February to March of the following year, most slugs hibernate in the cracks in the field and wet soil under the clods, and then come out after the weather gets warmer. The overwintering individuals are mainly sexual mature individuals, followed by some egg pieces and small slugs.
Slugs are omnivorous animals, and leaves, flowers, fruits, buds, stems and roots of many plants can be used as their food. Slugs can eat dozens of plants.
Often eat cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, Chinese dates, rape, spinach, amaranth, potatoes, broad beans, peas, wheat, corn, cotton, tobacco and other plants.
I especially like eating tender and juicy plants. However, hairy plants such as wax gourd leaves, radish leaves and eggplant leaves are generally inedible, and have repellent effects on onion, garlic, leek and tomato leaves with volatile odor. Besides green plants, slugs also like to eat fungi and lichens. Slugs also eat rotten leaves when they are hungry, and even eat their own feces, eggs or paper.
