Sweet; flat. Attributed to the lung and kidney meridians.
Effects and Indications
Diverting dampness and subduing swelling; eliminating heat and detoxifying. Used for edema, dysuria, anasarca, redness and swelling of wounds, ringworm, soup and fire injuries.

Use and dosage
Internally: decoction, 6-15 g. Externally: appropriate amount, powdered to mix the coating.

June harvest. Sift the mud and debris, pick off the impurities, and dry in the sun.

Identification of traits
The flowers are yellowish green, peduncled at the base. No petals, calyx tubular, about 1mm, lobes 5, long strip, curled outward. Yellowish pubescent. Stamens 10-15 united, about as long as the calyx. Gas faint, taste pale.
