Both the primary and intermediate economic professional and technical qualification examinations have two subjects: basic economic knowledge and professional knowledge and practice, and the questions are objective. Basic knowledge of economy is a public subject; "Professional Knowledge and Practice" is a professional subject, including business administration, agricultural economy, finance and taxation, finance, insurance, transportation economy, human resource management, tourism economy, construction and real estate economy, intellectual property rights and so on 10.

Advanced economic practice is a subject in the technical qualification examination for advanced economic majors. The subjective questions and test papers are customized according to the professional categories of business administration, agricultural economy, finance and taxation, finance, insurance, transportation economy, human resource management, tourism economy, construction and real estate economy, intellectual property and so on 10. Economic professional and technical qualification examinations are all electronic, and personnel need to complete the questions through computer operation.

Achievement and certificate management

The examination results of primary and intermediate economic professional and technical qualifications shall be managed in a rolling way, with a period of two years. Personnel can only obtain the corresponding economic professional and technical qualification certificate if they pass all subjects in two consecutive examination years.

Those who pass the primary and intermediate economic professional and technical qualification examinations will be awarded the economic professional and technical qualification certificate uniformly printed by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, which is valid throughout the country. Human resource management and intellectual property are awarded the corresponding certificates of human resource manager and intellectual property respectively. Obtaining primary and intermediate economic professional and technical qualifications can be recognized as having the titles of assistant economist (assistant human resource manager and assistant intellectual property division) and economist (human resource manager and intellectual property division).

Those who pass the national unified qualification examination for senior economic majors will be issued with the economic professional and technical qualification certificate uniformly printed by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. The qualification certificate shall be valid for five years nationwide from the date of passing the examination. Those who pass the technical qualification examination of senior economic specialty and pass the evaluation can obtain the title of senior economist.
