Purple-red dragonfly
Adults appear from May to November and live in ponds, reservoirs, ravines, gullies, swamps or slow-flowing streams in areas up to 2,000 meters above sea level. The abdominal eyes are red, the thorax is reddish-purple, the abdomen is purplish-red, and the wing bases have dark orange spots. There is a large difference between males and females.
