The breeding period of this frog is from May to September. Its reproduction, development and metamorphosis are all carried out in water. Frogs have no mating apparatus and mate in rice fields, ponds or ditches before laying eggs. While the female frog lays eggs, the male frog ejaculates and is fertilized in water (in vitro fertilization). According to the development of gonads, Rana tigris lays eggs many times. Rana tigris eggs are mostly yellow, animals are extremely black, and plants are extremely milky white or light yellow. The laid eggs stick together and float on the surface of the water. Each piece has a dozen to dozens of eggs, most of which are produced in permanent ponds or puddles.
