Garlic seedlings, also known as garlic moss, are a form of propagation of garlic, usually drawn in the spring of the second year after garlic is planted. Garlic seedlings have a cylindrical stem with a small garlic clove at the top and white fibrous roots on the lower part. Garlic seedlings are usually green in color with thick, tough leaves. Garlic seedlings are between 20 cm and 50 cm in length and about 0.5 cm to 1 cm in diameter. The top part of the garlic seedling, the clove part, is usually thicker than the lower leaves.
