How to make yogurt with a household yogurt machine

There are many kinds of household electric yogurt machines, but their usage and principles are basically the same. Yogurt machines all have an inner tank and an outer tank. The preparation in the container is continuously heated to over 40°C to ferment it into yogurt. Come and see with me how to make yogurt with a home yogurt machine.

Here we will use 2% whole milk, skim milk and active culture plain yogurt. Steps are as follows:

1. Pour 2 quarts of skim milk into a large deep saucepan and heat over medium heat, then add 1 cup of instant skim milk (do not use powdered milk for baking here), and stir Evenly.

2. When 1 is heated to bubbling and almost boiling (there should be no larger bubbles emerging at this time), remove from the heat and pour it into a large plate filled with ice water. Stir continuously until it cools to 7°C~8°C (can be measured with a quick-read thermometer).

3. Option 1: Pour two packets of yogurt starter into 2 and mix thoroughly.

Option 2: Pour 3 tablespoons of active culture plain yogurt into 2 and mix well.

4. Pour 3 into the inner pot of the yogurt motor. Add warm water to the outer pot. There is a water volume mark inside. If you want to make 1 quart of yogurt, add water to the lowest mark. If you want to make 2 quarts of yogurt, add water to the highest mark.

5. Put the inner pot into the outer pot and close the lid tightly.

6. Plug in the power (the red button on the bottom lights up) and let it "work" for 4 hours. After opening the lid, you will see thick yogurt with bubbles on the surface.

7. Next, close the lid of the inner pot and place it in the refrigerator overnight.

8. You can enjoy the delicious food the next day.

9. If you want to make thicker yogurt, you can pour a little yogurt powder into the yogurt, mix well, and pour it into a piping bag to drain (see the use of piping bags for details) manual).

10. After draining for about 8 hours, the Greek-style thick yogurt is ready, please enjoy! ;
