Taboo 1
Grapefruit, Seville orange, carambola, pomegranate and corresponding juice-avoid taking targeted drugs/chemotherapy.
There is nothing wrong with these fruits, just because they affect the activity of CYP3A enzyme in the body during metabolism, which in turn affects the metabolism of drugs and the curative effect of drugs, especially grapefruit.
It is reported in the literature that grapefruit will affect the efficacy of many drugs including etoposide, olapani, crizotinib, erlotinib, gefitinib, carboplatinib, everolimus, imatinib, rapatinib, nilotinib and so on [1]. Therefore, don't eat these fruits while taking targeted drugs/chemotherapy.
Grapes, oranges, pomelos and honey pomelos with hearts are not pomelos, so they can be eaten.
Taboo II
Royal jelly, royal jelly, bird's nest, China wood frog and placenta Hominis-taboos of breast cancer.
As we all know, sex hormones are closely related to the occurrence and development of breast cancer, especially the continuous increase of endogenous estrogen level or the supplement of exogenous estrogen can significantly increase the incidence of breast cancer [2], so breast cancer patients should pay attention to these foods with more estrogen in their daily diet.
It is rumored that breast cancer patients should not eat soy products, honey, hens and eggs, but they don't need it, and all tumor patients don't need it.
Taboo III
Garlic, Ginger and Angelica sinensis —— Taboos when using anticoagulant drugs.
These foods/drugs will strengthen the anticoagulant effect of anticoagulant drugs and increase the risk of bleeding [3].
The blood of tumor patients is often in hypercoagulable state, which is easy to form thrombus. It is not uncommon for tumor patients to use anticoagulants: bed-ridden tumor patients and tumor-related operations need to prevent thromboembolism, and tumor patients need thrombolysis when they have venous thromboembolism (the incidence is 4%-20%[4]) [5] ...
Commonly used anticoagulant drugs are:
Taboo 4
Ginseng, Ginkgo biloba, Silybum marianum and plant supplements for depression-contraindications during chemotherapy.
(Milk thistle: Some liver-protecting tablets will contain milk thistle. )
These foods/drugs will interfere with CYP2D6 enzyme in the body, reduce the efficacy of chemotherapy drugs or make people poisoned by preventing drugs from being completely decomposed [3].
Taboo 5
Foods containing carcinogens-taboo for all patients
According to the list of carcinogens-1class carcinogens (*** 120) of the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization, these common foods/drugs must be avoided. 1 class carcinogens are definitely carcinogens for people, but they will not get cancer after taking a bite, so there is a dose problem. However, for the sake of safety, it is recommended to avoid eating.
Understand 1 carcinogen
Taboo 6
Foods high in fat, sugar and starch-all patients should avoid them appropriately.
The main problem with these foods is that they can lead to overweight or obesity. Overweight or obesity is associated with at least 13 different types of cancer [6], and it will increase the risk of death and recurrence of some tumors [7]. Sugary drinks may directly promote the growth and deterioration of tumors, but have nothing to do with obesity [8]. Proper avoidance of foods high in fat, sugar and starch is of great benefit to cancer patients, and it is safe and healthy to eat natural foods instead.
Pay more attention to diet, it is more labor-saving to fight cancer.
