What is Artemia for?
Artemia is also known as brine shrimp. China folks also call it salt bugs or bumper shrimp. Taxonomically, it belongs to Arthropoda, Crustacea, Branchiopoda, Anura, Artemia. Artemia, as an important bait organism and a good experimental animal material, has been widely valued by people.

There are two types of Artemia, one is parthenogenetic Artemia and the other is bisexual Artemia. It is generally believed that parthenogenetic Artemia and hermaphroditic Artemia exist reproductive isolation even if they live in the same area, which is the difference between them. Artemia is widely distributed in salt lakes, salt pans and other high-salinity waters in all continents of the world. Wind and waterfowl are the main vectors of Artemia transmission. Artemia can escape from most possible predators because of its high salt environment, but it can't escape the harm of waterfowl. Some insects or their larvae (such as Hemiptera, Beetle, etc.) can also prey on Artemia.
