The Pomodoro Technique is a time management methodology approach that was created by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s. The method uses a timer to divide a typical 25-minute work period into 5-minute breaks, and those periods are called pomodori, plural of the Italian word pomodoro.
The keys to the tomato method are planning, tracking, recording, processing, and visualizing. During the planning phase, tasks are prioritized into a "To Do Today" list. This allows the user to anticipate the amount of work that will be required for each task. At the end of each Tomato Hour, the results are documented to improve the quality of the work.
