Baoding Specialty 1: Mancheng Strawberry
Mancheng Strawberry is a specialty fruit of Baoding, Hebei Province. Mancheng Strawberry was planted in 1953. It is the largest strawberry production base in China and is known as the "Hometown of Strawberry". The climate in Mancheng District, Baoding City, belongs to the warm temperate continental monsoon climate, semi-humid and semi-arid, with four distinct seasons, sufficient sunshine, synchronous rain and heat, and is suitable for the growth of a variety of fruits and vegetables. It is the best strawberry production zone. The strawberries produced are heart-shaped, delicious, red and juicy, sweet and sour, and rich in flavor.
Baoding Specialty 2: Donkey Meat on Fire
Donkey Meat on Fire is a traditional snack, which is to put cooked donkey meat into the fire and eat it. Donkey meat roasting originated in Baoding and is widely popular in Baoding and even North China. Its main component, donkey meat, has the nutritional characteristics of high protein, high amino acids, low fat and low cholesterol. China Juli Group Liu Lingzui Brewing Co., Ltd. was founded in 1126 AD during the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. It has been brewing for nearly a thousand years. It is one of the earliest birthplaces of distilled liquor in China, one of the national key cultural relics protection units, and was selected into the UNESCO's "China World Cultural Heritage Preparatory List". Liuling drunken wine strictly adopts the traditional Lao Wu steamer technology, which is carefully brewed by aging the mud in the pit, solid state, low temperature, long-term fermentation, slow fire distillation, selected quality, graded storage, and careful brewing. Baoding Specialty Five: Baiyunzhang Steamed Buns
Baiyunzhang Steamed Buns are one of Baoding’s specialties. The beef and mutton it uses must be fresh and tender, and mutton with moderate fatness and leanness must be specially selected. The sesame oil must be purchased at a designated location, and the bun wrappers must be made of high-quality flour and instant noodles. The buns have thin skin, narrow sides, and large, oily fillings, shaped like bells, and the fillings can be seen through the skin. In 1958, "Baoding Baiyun Zhang Baozi" and "Tianjin Goubuli Baozi" tied for first place in the national food competition. In 1980, it was rated as a high-quality flavor food brand product in Hebei Province.
