Old poems about Bailu: "Jian Jia", "Jade Steps Resentment", "Yin under the Moon on the West Tower of Jinling City", "Nan Kezi·Ten Miles of Green Mountains Far Away", "Moonlight Night Remembering My Brother", etc.
1. "Jianjia" Pre-Qin Dynasty·Anonymous
Jianjia is green and the white dew is like frost.
The so-called beauty is on the water side.
If you follow it back, the road will be long and blocked.
Translation:
The vast reeds are green, and the morning dew turns to frost.
The sweetheart I miss is standing on the other side of the river.
Go upstream to pursue her (him). The road to pursue her (him) is difficult and long.
2. "Resentment on the Jade Steps" by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty
White dew grows on the jade steps and invades the stockings for a long time at night.
But under the crystal curtain, look at the autumn moon exquisitely.
Translation:
Dew appeared on the jade steps. I had been alone for a long time late at night, and the dew soaked my socks.
Go back to the room and put down the crystal curtain, still looking at the exquisite autumn moon through the curtain.
3. "Singing under the Moon on the West Tower of Jinling City" by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty
The night in Jinling is quiet and the cool breeze blows. I go up to the tall building alone to look at Wu and Yue.
The white clouds reflect the water and shake the empty city, and the white dew drops drop the autumn moon.
Translation:
On a quiet night in Jinling, with a cool breeze blowing, I climbed up to a tall building alone and looked at Wuyue.
The shadows of white clouds and city walls are reflected on the river. Microwaves surge like white clouds. The city walls are swaying gently, and the falling dewdrops seem to be dripping from the moon.
4. "Nan Kezi: Ten Miles of Green Mountains Far Away" Zhongshu of the Song Dynasty
Ten Miles of Green Mountains Far Away, the tide flat road carries sand. The birds chirp several times to complain about the years. It’s a desolate time again, at the end of the world.
The white dew collects the remaining heat, and the cool breeze sets off the sunset. Ask about the lotus beside the green poplar embankment. I remember selling wine when I was young, that person.
Translation:
The tide has leveled the sandy road, and the green mountains in the distance are endless. Occasionally, a few birdsong can be heard, as if they are lamenting the passage of time. It's the bleak and indifferent autumn again. I'm far away in the world, and the waning moon is setting in the west.
White dew wets the clothes, and the cool breeze of dawn slowly blows away the morning glow. Walking to the bank of the familiar green poplar embankment, I asked about the blooming lotus in the pond: "Do you remember that year when I was selling wine on the roadside, which door I knocked on?"
5. "Moonlight Night Remembering My Brother" by Du Fu of the Tang Dynasty
Guarding drums interrupts the pedestrian movement, and there is a sound of wild geese in the autumn.
The dew is white tonight, and the moon is bright in my hometown.
Translation:
The sound of watch drums on the garrison blocked people's communication. In the autumn of the frontier fortress, a lone goose was chirping.
Tonight has entered the Bailu solar term, and the moon is still the brightest in my hometown.
