1. There are special hazelnut tongs, or you can use multi-purpose dried fruit tongs. Ordinary slightly larger pliers with oval clamping holes will also work. Hazelnuts can be broken open with ordinary hammers, heavy locks and other iron tools. It is best to hold the hazelnuts upright when smashing, so that the cracks can be opened with very little force without smashing the hazelnut kernels.
2. You can also wash the hazelnuts, cut them, blanch them in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes, take them out and quickly immerse them in ice water, which will make them easier to peel.
3. Find a plastic bag, put a few hazelnuts in it, flatten it out and pat it flat with a kitchen knife, and then pick out the hazelnut kernels.
4. You can also cook the hazelnuts, cool them, and freeze them in the refrigerator for two hours to separate the shell and meat, so that the hazelnuts can be peeled quickly and the meat is intact. 5. Or use scissors to cut the hazelnut shell, and heat it in the microwave at high temperature for 30 seconds. The inner layer of clothing and meat will automatically separate. However, you must cut the shell when using this method, otherwise it may cause the microwave oven to malfunction.
