Maoshanwang is the top durian variety in Malaysia. In order to ensure the best growing environment, it is generally planted on the slope, so that water will flow down the slope and will not accumulate at the roots of durian trees, thus promoting the full growth of durian fruits and maintaining a full state. Durian with golden pillow is mainly produced in some areas of southern Thailand.
Maoshanwang durian tastes sweet, and its flesh is like jelly, fresh and delicate, with rich sweetness, and its shape, color and meat quality are almost perfect. The aroma of durian with golden pillow is not obvious, which is unpleasant, the taste is refreshing, the pulp texture is crisp and tender, and it is slightly rough compared with Maoshanwang.
Generally speaking, Maoshanwang durian is more expensive because of its good quality and good taste. Durian with golden pillow is relatively cheaper. Consumers can choose according to their own budget when buying.
Choose durian with good quality
1. Smell: Fresh durian has the unique fragrance of durian, not the sour fermented taste. If there is a sour fermented taste, it means that durian has gone bad.
2. Look at the raised part of durian: The higher the raised part of durian, the more it means, the higher the meat yield of durian will be. If durian has less protruding parts, the meat yield of durian will definitely be low.
3. Shake it and listen to the sound: hold the durian and shake it in your ear. If there is a noise inside, it means that the durian is ripe, and it is probably a "dry bag". If there is no noise, it means that the maturity and meat yield of durian are not high.
4. Pinch: Pinch two adjacent rows of durians together. If it can be pinched and glued together, it will rebound slowly, indicating that such durian is relatively mature and can be purchased.
