Ruditapes philippinarum often inhabits coarse sand and small gravel beaches in intertidal zone and the bottom of sediments in subtidal zone. Usually inhabit quiet waters. Most of them are in the inner bay with less wind and waves, and there are middle and low tide areas where fresh water is injected into people, but occasionally high salinity coastal islands and several meters deep subtidal zones are found; Sandy mudflats with a sediment concentration of 70%-80% are the most abundant habitats.
