Although colorful silicone shovels are beautiful, I find that cleaning is not as easy as wooden shovels, and the smell of food will remain on the silicone shovels. But of course, wooden shovels also have shortcomings such as safe coating and damp and moldy weather, so I still use both. I mainly use silicone spatula to cook light but not greasy food, while others use wooden spatula.
Metal appliances will scratch the enamel and are not recommended. I remember the first time I used a cast iron pan. It was braised pork. The moment you finish eating braised pork, you actually go to lift the pot immediately to check whether there are scratches on the bottom of the pot and pour out the braised pork to check whether it sticks to the pot, instead of eating a delicious braised pork! In fact, the enamel cast iron pot is very durable, and the burnt pot is easy to clean. Knowing a few possible emergencies first will make you feel more at ease and happier.
Don't be afraid of burning, it is inevitable that the fire will be too big accidentally, or you will forget to turn off the fire. When you see the pot turn black and burn, don't be at a loss, don't brush hard and don't try to peel it. Just pour a proper amount of water, add baking soda powder (the weight is not certain, I will put 2 tablespoons 1 liter of water), boil and soak for one night (soaking is necessary, at least 2 hours, preferably one night), and the burnt part will naturally fall off. If something can't be cleaned overnight, you can repeat baking soda water's procedure for many times until it is completely cleaned. It is also easy to soak the cleaning powder in the utensils of the orange workshop.
