Gynostemma pentaphyllum is distributed in Shaanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian. The wild Gynostemma pentaphyllum with sweet taste is mainly distributed in Hunan. In 1985, the origin of Gynostemma pentaphyllum was discovered and confirmed in the Luoxiao Mountain Range of Hunan Province during the general survey of Chinese herbal medicine plant resources. The mountains here are shrouded in clouds all year round, and they are still natural and original, pure and pollution-free, and are praised as "magic oasis" by UNESCO. Experts on medicinal plants point out that there are only mountains here, water here, air and soil here. At present, it has become the only raw material supply base of Gynostemma pentaphyllum in Shennong Jin Kang.
