Mushrooms can still be eaten if they are kept in the refrigerator with a layer of white hairs.
The white hairs on the mushrooms are not the manifestation of moldy food, but the white spores emanating from the mushrooms themselves which have been placed there for too long, which are usually caused by aging of the mushrooms and do not produce poisonous substances, and they can still be eaten after cleaning, but the edible taste has decreased a bit.
Mushrooms are composed of mycelium and substrate, mycelium is the nutritive organ and substrate is the reproduction organ. If mushrooms have white hairs, aging of mushrooms will lead to the spores of mushrooms to grow out of the mycelium, i.e., white hairs, which is more common in the case of flat mushroom and almond abalone mushroom.
