It’s called “Chan, change, change!”
I was born in 1994 in a rural area in northern Anhui. When I was in primary school (around 2000), the canteen would sell this kind of snack. It's like two cents a box. The small jelly box contains a few millimeters of dark yellow syrup, and there is a thin and hard tube for stirring. It often takes an hour or two to stir, and you are reluctant to eat in the middle of it.
It is really the snack that I remember the most from my childhood. I couldn’t buy it when I returned to my hometown in 2005. If you can't find it on the all-purpose Taobao now, there should really be nothing produced.
