Onions like a cool and dry environment, and the suitable storage temperature is 0℃~1℃ , the relative air humidity is 65% to 70%, the oxygen concentration is 3% to 6%, and the carbon dioxide concentration is 0% to 5%. Excessive temperature and humidity will promote onion germination and shorten the storage period.

3. Basket hiding method. After the onions are harvested, dry them in the sun. When the leaves turn yellow, bundle them into small handfuls and pile them into a round stack, with the onion heads facing outward and the leaves facing in, forming a hollow cone inside. The stacks should be stacked every 4-5 days, and avoid being exposed to rain. After the onions are dry, remove the leaves and put them in a basket or box. Each basket is 20-30 kilograms and is stacked in the cellar or ordinary warehouse.
4. Hanging method. Braid the dried onions into braids, with each strip about 1 meter long. The two strips are combined into one hanging, with 80-100 heads per hanging. Hang the braided onion on a shelf so that the braid is 10 cm above the ground. Surround it with mats to protect it from rain. After winter, it can be hung indoors or in a storage room.
