Recently, the reporter learned from the Guangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission that the National Development and Reform Commission has officially approved the Guangzhou Urban Rail Transit Phase III construction plan (20 17-2023), including 10 new subway lines, with a total length of 258. 1 km and a total investment of 219.6 billion yuan.

It is estimated that by 2023, Guangzhou will form a rail transit network with 18 lines and a total length of 800 kilometers, with an operating mileage of about 2.5 times that of the present. In addition to speeding up the implementation of a new round of subway planning, Guangzhou has also started the next round of rail transit network revision to meet the needs of future urban development.

Supporting the development of Nansha is the biggest highlight of this round of subway planning. On the basis of existing Line 4, Nansha has harvested Line 18 and Line 22. This is the first time that Guangzhou Metro adopts the regional express mode, and chooses the train with the highest running speed of160km to achieve the time-space goal of 30 minutes from Tianhe to Nansha. Moreover, these two lines will be the earliest lines to be started and completed in this round of planning.
