The main difference is that the indications are different, the drug interactions are different, the adverse reactions are different, as follows:
I, the indications are different
1, loratadine tablets
Used for the relief of symptoms related to allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny, itchy, stuffy nose, as well as itching and burning sensation of the eyes. It is also indicated for the relief of symptoms and signs of chronic urticaria, pruritic dermatosis friend other allergic skin diseases.
2, Ebastine tablets
For the treatment of urticaria, allergic rhinitis, eczema, dermatitis, pruritus and so on.
Two, drug interactions are different
1, loratadine tablets
①, the simultaneous administration of ketoconazole, macrolide antibiotics, cimetidine, theophylline and other drugs, will increase the concentration of loratadine in the plasma, should be used with caution. Other drugs known to inhibit hepatic metabolism should be combined with caution until the interaction with loratadine is clear.
2. Drug interactions may occur if used concurrently with other drugs.
2, ebastine tablets
Ebastine and ketoconazole or erythromycin (both drugs are known to prolong the QT interval) when used in combination, there are pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic interactions, so that the blood concentration of ebastine increased - although compared with the above two drugs used alone to prolong the QT interval by only 10ms. And ebastine should be used with caution in patients taking ketoconazole or erythromycin concomitantly.
When ebastine is taken with food, blood levels and its postmetabolic basal activity products are increased by 1.5-2.0 in response to certain factors, but this increase does not affect the time to peak blood levels. Concomitant administration with food does not affect the clinical efficacy of ebastine.
Ebastine affects the effectiveness of skin tests, which should therefore be performed only after discontinuing ebastine for 5 to 7 days.
Three, adverse reactions are different
1, loratadine tablets
Common adverse reactions are fatigue, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, gastrointestinal discomfort including nausea, gastritis, and skin rash. Rare adverse reactions include alopecia, allergic reactions, liver function abnormalities, tachycardia and palpitations.
2. Ebastine Tablets
Adverse reactions occurring in greater than 1% of patients over 12 years of age were headache (7.9%), salivation (3%), and dry mouth (2.1%). In children under 12 years of age, side effects greater than 1% observed were headache (11.7%), dry mouth (2.6%), and somnolence (1.25%).
Adverse reactions reported in less than 1% of children older than 12 years were as follows: abdominal pain, dyspepsia, epistaxis, rhinitis, sinusitis, nausea, and insomnia. Other adverse reactions reported in less than 1% of children less than 12 years of age include: increased appetite, diarrhea, rash, irritability, moodiness, hyperactivity, change in taste, and weakness.
