Hemiptera (Hemiptera) stink bugs family (Cimicidae) insects, about 75 species, sucking the blood of people and warm-blooded animals. The body is flat and broad, 4 to 5 millimeters (less than 0.2 inches) long, reddish-brown, with reduced scaly wings and odor glands that produce a peculiar odor. The female lays more than 200 eggs per breeding season and reproduces three or more generations a year. Worldwide distribution, day and night, after sucking blood, that is, hiding, the sucked blood needs a few days to digest. Adults can withstand hunger for more than a year. Temperate bedbugs (Cimex lectularius) and tropical bedbugs (C. hemipterus) suck human blood. C. pilosellus sucks the blood of bats, Oeciacus sucks the blood of swallows, and Cimexopsis nyctalis sucks the blood of rainbows. Chicken bedbugs (Haematosiphon inodora) suck the blood of poultry, but also suck the blood of humans and pigs.
