Introduction of Hongluo Temple Scenic Spot

Hongluo Temple in the suburbs of Beijing is a national 4A-level scenic spot and a key cultural relic protection unit in Beijing. Located in the south foot of Luohong, 4 kilometers north of Huairou, Beijing. Take bus No.936 from Dongzhimen, Beijing to Hongluo Temple. About 55 kilometers away from Beijing, it is a tourist attraction integrating human landscape and natural landscape. It was founded in the fourth year of Xiankang in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (338) and expanded in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Formerly known as "daming temple", it was renamed "Fugu Temple for Protecting the Country" in the Ming Dynasty. Because of the legend of Hongluoxian, commonly known as Hongluosi, it is the birthplace of Buddhism in northern China and the largest ancient temple in northern Beijing. Most of the previous presides in history came from the Imperial Order School, and Buddhist monks in Jin Dynasty and Yunshan in Yuan Dynasty all presided over Hongluo Temple. The last two generations of ancestors of Pure Land Sect of Buddhism in China (the 12th generation of ancestors awakened in the world and the 13th generation of ancestors of Yinguang) are all predestined friends with this temple. There is a saying that "Putuo is in the south and Luo Hong is in the north".

With a total area of 8 square kilometers, Hongluo Temple has formed three Buddhist cultural areas, namely Hongluo Temple, Kannonji and Five Hundred Arhats Garden, and two natural scenic spots, namely Luohong and Qinglong Mountain. It has the tourist characteristics of "enjoying flowers in spring, enjoying summer, enjoying leaves in autumn and enjoying the cool in winter". The temple was built on the mountain, with Luohong in the north and Luohong Lake in the south, surrounded by water and towering ancient trees, gathering wind and gas, dotted with "three wonders of Luohong". The ancient temple is located on the north-south central axis, and the main hall is four in one, followed by Sanmen Hall, Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall and Sanshen Temple. The west wing of the third temple is the abbot's yard, and the east wing is the prison. The main halls attached to the East Wing are Guanyin Hall and Jialan Hall from inside to outside. The Xixiang Ancestral Hall is the Dharma Hall and the Pure Land Ancestral Hall from the inside out. There is an east-west courtyard outside the central axis courtyard. The West Courtyard was originally a courtyard with three entrances, which was a place for monks to hide customs and provide for the aged. The East Cross Courtyard is also a Sanhe Courtyard, which is a guest room for receiving visiting monks. In the east of this group of buildings, there is also an independent Sanjin compound, which is Yanshou Old People's Hall. Outside the west wall of the West Cross is an ordinary hall, which supports the remains of the dead monks. In front of Sanmen Temple is a five-foot stone ramp, commonly known as scorpion. The correct name in Buddhism is wide tongue. Another courtyard of Hongluo Temple-Luohong Hui Yuan Valley is located at the foot of Luohong Mountain, 3 kilometers away from Hongluo Temple. Yuan dynasty cultural relics site 2 1. At present, the cultural landscapes such as Fangshengchi, Shanxi Temple, Chaoyang Temple, Tianxi Temple and Huang San Temple have been restored, and China cultural connotations such as "Huang San" and Confucianism and Taoism have been integrated, which has supplemented and extended the Buddhist culture. Luo Hongshan, backed by two monasteries, belongs to the Yanshan Mountain, with one mountain and two peaks. Xifeng is 8 12.9 meters above sea level, and Dongfeng is 8 1 1.9 meters above sea level. It is the natural barrier of Hongluo Temple, forming a microclimate environment with warm winter and cool summer and humid air around the temple. Every spring, summer and autumn, it is always rainy and humid. Therefore, many southern plants that are extremely difficult to survive in the north can take root and grow sturdily here. The unique landform and abundant rainfall also make the forest here lush, with a wide variety of animals and plants, and many birds and wild animals can be seen everywhere in the forest.

At the southern foot of Luohong Temple, there are colored-leaf tree species such as Prunus armeniaca, Cotinus coggygria, five-pointed maple and torch, covering an area of more than 4,000 mu. Luohong in late autumn, covered with red leaves, yellow, white, sallow and dark green Pinus tabulaeformis constitute a colorful and well-defined landscape painting.
