1. Research purpose Breakfast is like a timely help, which can quickly bring hormone secretion to a climax and provide the energy that the brain cells crave for, just like a thawing power switch. In time, the brain is connected with the current required for activity. Breakfast is essential to protect human health, maintain physical fitness, and improve learning and work efficiency. By observing the students around us, we found that some students do not have the habit of eating breakfast, while many students bring breakfast to the classroom and finish it in a hurry a few minutes before class or between classes. This will have a certain impact on students' daily life and learning efficiency. In order to let college students understand the importance of breakfast to the human body and arouse the attention of college students to breakfast, our group conducted a survey on November 19, 2009 on the importance of breakfast to college students. We conducted surveys at Guangdong Medical College, Dongguan University of Technology, and Dongguan Vocational and Technical School by visiting and distributing questionnaires. Afterwards, I contacted my classmates in Guangzhou via email, and with the help of my classmates, I completed an electronic questionnaire survey of some students from Guangzhou universities. ***300 paper questionnaires were distributed, and 295 were valid questionnaires. There are 500 electronic questionnaires and 500 valid questionnaires. The main contents of the survey include the importance college students attach to breakfast, whether college students eat healthy breakfast, whether they understand the nutritional value of various breakfasts, and whether they are aware of the dangers of skipping breakfast. This survey was completed through statistical analysis of data and online search for relevant information. 2. Research results and analysis 1. The importance college students attach to breakfast. According to statistical data, 59% of people believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and 68% of students eat breakfast on time. This shows that most students I still pay attention to breakfast. But there are still quite a few students who fail to realize the importance of breakfast. Most people don't have time to eat because they go to bed too late. A few skip breakfast because they don’t like it or are too lazy to go. And some girls don’t eat in order to lose weight. No matter what the reason is, you must have breakfast. Nutritionists point out that after a night's sleep, a person's stomach has already been emptied, and the nutrients eaten the night before have been consumed and are in urgent need of replenishment. A proper breakfast can make people energetic and adapt well to work and study. Therefore, breakfast is a very important meal and must not be treated carelessly. 2. Whether breakfast is eaten reasonably. Survey data shows that most students eat breakfast on time. 71% of the students have breakfast between 7:00-8:00. Medical research shows that it is most appropriate to eat breakfast during this time, because people's appetite is strongest at this time. The nutrients eaten during this period are also fully absorbed. This shows that most students eat breakfast at a reasonable time. 68% of students finish their breakfast within 10 minutes, which is very rushed. Eating too fast makes it difficult for the stomach to digest it in time, which can lead to indigestion and even stomach problems. When it comes to food choices, most people choose rice, noodles, porridge, etc. These are relatively healthy. But 29% still chose fried dough sticks and soy milk. Although these foods are rich in carbohydrates, protein and fat, they are all acidic foods. If it is consumed in excess in the diet, it can easily cause the blood to become acidic, causing physiological acid-base balance imbalance in the body. Therefore, you should eat some alkaline fruits and vegetables to maintain acid-base balance. A reasonable breakfast should be a balanced breakfast with meat and vegetables, and the timing should be right. 3. Do you know the nutritional value of various breakfasts? Survey data shows that only 17% of students know the nutritional value of breakfast. And other students only have a general understanding, or even no understanding. When choosing breakfast, only 46% of students pay attention to nutrition. 40% of students chose breakfast based on taste, which resulted in 29% choosing bread for breakfast and 9% choosing fried dough sticks. According to nutrition experts, foods rich in high-quality protein, cereals rich in moisture, minerals, and fiber, fruits, vegetables, soy milk, skimmed milk and other fluid nutritious foods should stay away from high oil, high sugar, high salt, and high fat. High additive food recipe is a valuable and nutritious breakfast. And don’t eat too much of those high-calorie breads and fried dough sticks. Therefore, students' understanding of the nutritional value of breakfast needs to be improved. They should pay attention to their breakfast and choose a healthy and nutritious breakfast. 4. Summary: Experts once said that skipping breakfast is tantamount to chronic suicide. Many modern college students often neglect breakfast because they are busy studying. The morning is the most active time of the day and consumes more energy.

In severe cases, it will cause nutritional deficiencies such as malnutrition and iron deficiency. Sexual anemia, etc. Malnutrition caused by skipping breakfast will lead to a decrease in body resistance and increase the incidence of colds, cardiovascular and other diseases. This not only reduces learning efficiency, but also directly affects students' growth and development. Therefore, eating breakfast is an important and essential part of our lives. Especially for the student group. They face heavy learning tasks every day, and a nutritious and healthy breakfast is the guarantee for their efficient learning.
