The remaining lamps have no flames and shadows, and we heard that you were banished to Jiujiang on this night.

Appreciation
Wen Letian Awarded Jiangzhou Secretary of Department is a poem in seven-character stanzas composed by Yuan Zhen. The poem was written after the author learned that Bai Juyi had been demoted. The whole poem expresses the author's extreme shock and the sadness in his heart when he learned that his friend had been demoted.
In August of the 10th year of Emperor Xianzong Yuanhe of the Tang Dynasty (815), the poet's close friend Bai Juyi, who had been assassinated by the prime minister Wu Yuanheng in the capital, appealed to the court to hunt down the murderer and find out what had happened, and was offended by the powerful and influential people, so he was demoted to the position of Secretary of the Department of Justice in Jiangzhou. At that time, the poet was relegated to Tongzhou, is sick in bed, heard the news, the mood is very sad, and immediately sick wrote this poem sent to Jiangzhou.
The first line of the poem is about a scene: "The lamps are flameless and the shadows are flickering", it is late at night, the lamps are exhausted, and only the shadows of the lamps are left swaying in the darkness. Then the second and third sentences narrative, lyric. "This evening heard that the gentleman banished to Jiujiang", in such a bleak and dark night, suddenly heard the news that his friend was banished to Jiujiang, couldn't help but "dying in the disease sat up in shock", "sat up in shock" three words, the news of the amazing and the shock of the hearer and the news of the shock of the hearer and the shock of the hearer. The three words "sit up in shock" strongly express the shock of the news and the shock of the person who heard the news, as well as the difficult feelings at that time. The last line of the poem is a scene of emotion, "the dark wind and rain blowing into the cold window". The night was already very late, and the poet sat up in bed in shock, hearing only the sound of wind and rain pounding on the window. Bleak scenery and bleak state of mind into one, the mood of pathos.
The poem uses concise and vivid language, through the "flameless lamp", "shadow", "dark wind blowing rain" and a series of bleak scene description and atmosphere, fully expresses the poet's feelings for his friend's death, and the poet's feelings for his friend's death, and the poet's feelings for his friend's death. It fully expresses the poet's sadness and misery at the deportation of his friend. Bai Juyi was y moved after reading the poem in Jiangzhou. Later in the book with Yuan Wei Zhi, he said: "This sentence is still unheard of, not to mention the servant's heart! To this day, every time I recite it, I am still saddened."
Shen Deqian said that this poem "over the bitter words and lost" ("Poetry eye language"), I am afraid that this is not appropriate. The author and Bai Juyi were close friends, and their friendship was very deep. They were both struck by the powerful and powerful, forced to leave the capital, and moved out of the county, so their state of mind was very bleak, and they wrote poems in a sad language, which was a natural expression of their sincere feelings. This kind of poem, there are many other poems in the collection of the two.
Tang Talent Biography said: "micro (Yuan Zhen) and white Lotte the most intimate, although the flesh and bones are not to the love, can deceive the feelings of gold and stone, thousands of miles of God, if the fit, sing and much, no more than two Gong." This shows that the two men's deep feelings, and each other's poems are also full of love.
