1898 (in the 24th year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty), the drunken crab Zhongzhuang, which was produced with Xinghua hairy crabs as raw materials, went to Nanyang (Singapore) to participate in the International Sports Fair, which was well received by the ministers of international trade and industry and won the first prize. The drunken crab in Zhongzhuang became famous in Nanyang. Since then, it has been sold to Southeast Asian countries every year.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the drunken crab in Zhongzhuang won the first-class gold medal in the Jiangsu Provincial Goods Exhibition held in Zhenjiang and other places. At the beginning of the 20th century and the end of 1960s, drunken crabs in Zhongzhuang were exported to Japan and Hong Kong in small quantities. 1984, the drunken crab in Zhongzhuang won the honorary title of "Jiangsu Famous Product" at the National Fair of Township Enterprises in Beijing. 1997, drunken crab in Zhongzhuang was recognized as "green food" by the National Green Food Development Center. By 2009, Zhu Tonglin, the chairman of Honggao Company, was awarded the title of "King of River Crab Breeding in China" by the River Crab Branch of China Fisheries Association, and four towns including Anfeng, Yongfeng, Zhongbao and Lincheng were awarded the title of "Hometown of River Crab Breeding in China" and xinghua city was awarded the title of "First County of River Crab Breeding in China". By 20 10, there are 12 Eriocheir sinensis products certified as pollution-free aquatic products, 5 Eriocheir sinensis products certified as green food and 4 Eriocheir sinensis products certified as organic food. Two famous brand products and two famous brand agricultural products in Jiangsu Province have been cultivated; Xinghua Hairy Crab was granted the protection of national geographical indication products and the registration of collective trademarks; Jinqiu Hairy Crab Dance Ecological Hairy Crab, Honggao Hairy Crab, Tianbao Lake Hairy Crab and Gaomantang Hairy Crab won the title of "Top Ten Famous Crabs in China"; Xinghua Hairy Crab, Banqiao Hairy Crab and Jinqiu Hairy Crab Dance Ecological Hairy Crab won the "China Famous Crab Gold Award".
