Learning History
Sun's parents were both schoolteachers with a strict upbringing, and she has a sister and a brother. she started piano lessons at the age of 5, laying the foundation for her future musical endeavors. Seeking to compensate for her thin frame, she also learned a number of sports, such as swimming and combat.
During her junior college years, her parents had always wanted her to go to a national university, and her father, a professor at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU), was a good tutor for her, which led to her being admitted to NTU, where her father teaches.
During her college years, she formed a band on campus and wrote the song "Someone". In 1998, Chou Chien-hui, who was about to be appointed as the chairman of Warner Music Taiwan, visited Mustache Lee's music school to select new artists. Mustache Lee arranged several outstanding students, and Sun Yanzi's unique voice attracted Chou. Sun Yenzi began to have preparations for signing a contract with Warner Music.
After her debut, Sun Yen-Chi was immediately recognized by her fans and won many awards. On September 17, 2006, she held a press conference in Hong Kong, announcing that she had switched to Capitol Music and became Jolin Tsai's mentor.

In the summer of 2000, Warner finally launched its long-brewing secret newcomer, a 22-year-old girl from Singapore named Sun Yanzi. I was in my sophomore year of high school at the time, and when I grabbed this CD from a girl in my class, I vaguely sensed in my heart the extraordinary nature behind this handful of stubborn voices. The fresh melody, simple lyrics, and the incomparable sincerity of the lyrics captured the innocent me at once. Maybe there is a little bit of virginity, I have always insisted that the selection of songs on this album is the best among all of Sun Yanzi's albums, and each song has its own characteristics and not lack of pop potential.
Li gave his protégé perhaps his best work to date, with "Dark Day", inspired by a Taiwanese folk ballad, and the song's music video, featuring a thin but strong girl on the piano, became the most convincing image of Sun. In addition to a few hit songs such as "Love Certificate" and "Super Fast", the rest of the miniatures level such as "Peace", "Thick Eyebrows", and "E-Lover" were also equally popular, and even her personal composition "Very Good" also showed a good deal of strength. At the 12th Taiwan Golden Melody Awards, she won the Best New Artist Award, which can only be won once in a lifetime, by virtue of the fact that this album of the same name was a smash hit and overwhelmed her contemporaries, Maggie Jiang and Hou Xiangting, who missed this village.

After her debut hit, Warner decided to strike while the iron was hot, releasing her sophomore album, "The Happiness I Want," in time for 2001. In fact, I think the record company actually had it coming, and with the good results of the debut record they should have expected it. The aggressive second wave was slightly rushed, but there were a number of standouts. The album's eponymous song, as a sister to "It's Dark Dark", inherited the little-girl style of inspirational lyrics and plaintive obsession under the piano chords, and quickly became a radio hit. Another song about growing up in love with a lonesome state of mind, "Beginning to Understand" also became a regular in KTVs, and its simple guitar sweeping chord arrangement became a tried-and-true love song pattern later on.
It's worth noting that from this album onwards, the producers consciously dug further into Sun's voice conditions, emphasizing the explosive power of the voice and the singer's personality in the album gradually increased the proportion of songs such as "Zero Defects" and "Rarely Seen," all of them are more and more high and easily mobilized each other's atmospheres, and Taiwan's Queen of the Pub, Huang Xiaoxun, even covered the latter. The Queen of Taiwan Pubs, Huang Xiaohu, even covered the latter. Although the album "The Happiness I Want" was nominated for seven awards, including Favorite Female Vocalist, at the 2001 Golden Melody Awards in Singapore, it was a much quieter affair in Taiwan.

Contemporaneous rival: Zhang Huimei's "Real"
After a six-month hiatus, Sun Yenzi's third scorecard is back in front of her fans, and the frequency of releases is reminiscent of Miriam Yeung in her heyday. It's a pretty good record overall, with the self-titled title track "Kite" opening with a wind sample and a big clean vocal, giving it a hint of the New Age, although the strings and very "hard" vocals later on return to her familiar routine of love songs that start off with a downbeat and then go up. In fact, from this album onwards, Yan Zi has learned to incorporate more ethnic and exotic elements into her music, such as the Scandinavian folk song "Green Light", which has become a signature part of every concert since then, with its tap dance steps. Although it's not the first time she released her own compositions, the ones she came up with this time are still eye-catching, especially BossaNova's "Really", which is very refreshing to the ears. My personal favorite from the album would have to be "Escape", a rare display of her inner repetitive and contradictory side amidst hysterical guitar noises, the song's neuroticism is unique amongst all of her work. But undoubtedly, the maturity and wandering realism of the song's style make people feel from the bottom of their hearts that a girl like this is not just singing, but singing her own heartfelt and touching words.
By this time, Yan Zi's career was flourishing, and she was already justifiably referred to by the media as a little diva. She and Zhou Hui, Xiao Yaxuan, Jolin Tsai and other new generation began to call the traditional forces of the singing world, but after all, still young. The 13th Golden Melody Awards Best Female Vocalist of the year was still taken by fellow Warner sister Zhang Huimei, full of passionate Spanish flavor and everywhere not refined "real" let Yan Zi for the first time to learn what is called ginger or old hot.

This is actually a collection of covers, and as the name suggests, Sun Yen-Chi's musical journey began with the old favorites, including the Beatles' "Hey Jude," the Banana Girl's "Venus," Tori Amos' "Silent," "The Beatles," "The Pink Lady," "The Pink Lady," and "The Pink Lady. The Beatles' "Hey Jude", Banana Girl's "Venus", Tori Amos' "Silent All These Years", Qi Yu's "Olive Tree", and Faye Wong's "The Sky" are all familiar to any fan. Yan Zi is also careful in her cover, although she may have imitated too much and lacked individuality, but she tried to keep the flavor of the original song and make it more acceptable to her fans, which is nothing to be ashamed of. Swallow has incorporated a lot of vocal techniques, so the album is a kind of tribute to her idol. It's clear that a lot of thought went into this album, and Yan Zi is a fan of several of the European and American classics, having said many times that she enjoys sitting on a high legged stool, letting a dim spotlight shine down on her, and singing "Silent All These Years" with a piano accompaniment. Likewise it was included in the set list for subsequent concerts.

To be fair, starting from "Leave", there was a great deal of weakness in the slow baroque piano pieces that Yan Zi was most comfortable with. On the one hand, good tunes are hard to come by, and on the other hand, fans' tastes are getting tougher. I guess even she sensed that songs like "I Don't Love" and "Love From Scratch" were not enough to keep fans dead in their pockets, hence the album's many attempts.
Whether it's the heavy electronic dance groove of "Combat," the hard rock under the broken beat of "Understanding," or the dry hip-hop of "Straight Up," it lacks a bit of conviction and gives off a wobbly vibe, but instead, it's the little afternoon ballad "Same Summer," which is created with twin guitars, that you can't help but get lost in. So "Leave" seems more like a testing ground, and like all idol singers, Sun Yen Zi is facing a bottleneck in her career two years after her debut, and it's time for her to find a way forward. How much longer can fans buy into the constant repetition of herself?

Unfinished gives the impression of being truly "unfinished". With the exception of the title track, "Magic," which takes us to the Ganges River with its rich instrumentation, and "I'm Not Sad," whose guitar recalls the youthfulness of her debut, the rest of the album is mostly water off a duck's back, going in one ear and out the other, and giving the impression that she's just trying to make a name for herself. Despite the fact that the record's copy intentionally diverts attention elsewhere, such as "first time as a song producer" and "first cross-country collaboration with Mamoru Kuraki," the music itself still can't hide the bleakness of the album. As a fan who has always loved her, I can't help but ask, "Yanzi, are you really out of it?

It's a double-CD set of new songs and selections, and Sun claims she's flying abroad for a year's rest after this one. It's a good move, as she sings, "It's just a long trip, not an escape". In this selection of five new songs, we can also see a hint of the future direction of the album, attempting to obtain more excellent works through a wide range of outstanding musicians in the music industry. In the past, Sun's albums were basically monopolized by Li Yusheng, Li Weisheng and Bao Xiaobai, but in this album it is the open-ended selection of songs that makes us feel a surge of fresh blood.
"The Moment" is the work of rising Taiwanese songwriter Chen Zhongshi, who specializes in out-of-the-box pop, and this song is also of high caliber, with piano and strings, and a melody that is so powerful that it gives us much more to look forward to when she makes her comeback. Hong Kong folk music prince Lin Yifeng dedicated a "meet" is a long-lost touch, let a person believe, for Yanzi such a singer does not need to be too fancy, the simplest is the best.

After a year's gap with her fans, Stefanie Sun is back with a strong new album. Sure enough, as hinted at on "The Moment," the album sees a number of unfamiliar names within its production credits, which directly contributes to the versatility of the songs' styles, but in turn also somewhat makes the album seem fragmented and lacking in a unified thematic approach.
It goes without saying that the fresh elements of the power-band soundtracked "Run," the interspersed metal and rap "Walk in Reverse," and the world-music-African-inspired "Seed" all make for a bit of excitement on first listen, but they are still too superficial and lacking in substance. Instead, it's the tango-influenced "Take Your Time," a song dedicated by longtime partner Lee Wei-Siong, that's refreshing. A bit of wildness paired with pop touches, the flamenco guitar in the soundtrack, the rising and falling male harmonies behind it are all exceptionally colorful, and Yan Zi's musical understanding comes through, with her breathing in and out of the rhythm demonstrating the charm of a little woman. In contrast, slower love songs such as "My Love", "I Miss Her Too" and "The Same Kind" remained weak, with mediocre melodies and a flood of strings that made it really impossible to get interested.
After a year's worth of "trying to catch up", the band failed to deliver and lost the hearts of many of its fans. Slightly dramatically, at the 16th Golden Melody Awards that year, Yan Zi still won the Best Female Vocalist award. The organizers had a lot of sympathy for the young Sun Yenzi, so the conservative judges let her beat out the surging Zhang Shaohan and Liang Jingru.

When you get your hands on "A Perfect Day," it's hard to imagine that it's a Sun Yen-Tzu album if you just look at the track listing. Tears Become Poetry, Wandering Map, Another Face, these literary names are hard to find on her past albums, as she always sings the most straightforward songs, and such a bit of pretentiousness makes people slightly uncomfortable. Seeing that Sun's career was at an insurmountable bottleneck, Warner finally sat down and played its last trump card - bringing the notorious masters along for the ride!
Jia Minjoo, who has had great success with Fish Leong in recent years, produced the poorly received "A Perfect Day," an attempt to continue Fish Leong's sweetness in Sun's body. Tears Become Poetry," created by Hong Kong's gold medal lyricist Lin Xi, was also a minor disappointment. After "Meet" Lin Yifeng also came up with a warm "Honey Honey", which is good and nurturing to the ears, but slightly puny. The biggest problem with the album is that it lacks a hit song that can move the whole body, and the original powerful "Day One" has that potential, but unfortunately it lacks a bit of individuality, with a Mayday-esque melody and rhythm, and F.I.R-esque strings, and even the voices of Shin and Fei's are a bit of a distraction.
Despite the label's usual celebratory dinner, it's common knowledge that the album's sales are in serious decline. As usual, her efforts have not been able to recover the decline, and it seems that Sun's love affair with Warner has come to an end. Meanwhile, her friend Cai Jianya unexpectedly won the Golden Melody Awards for "Amphibian", and Yanzi could only offer her congratulations from the sidelines. The only thing worth celebrating is that she finally took her solo show to Hong Kong's Hung Hom Stadium, which symbolizes the highest honor for Chinese pop singers, and that may be something she deserves to remember for the rest of her life.

Join us in 2007! The new owner of Sun Yanshi is the beginning of a brand new journey. The 10th brand-new music work of Sun Yanzi, how to start? How to present? This is a much-anticipated work that will also face the strict scrutiny and challenges of the market.
When I hear Gigi Sun again, I still have the same feeling. With the musical arrangement and melodic flow of the "Backlight" album, listening to the moving performance of each of her songs, the most familiar and profound memories come flooding back. The perfect ending of the previous stage, the next stage of Backlight takes off.
Beginning with A&R, this time, in terms of production, we have retained Yan Zi's best tunes and also utilized a large number of new elements to create a familiar but fresh sounding Sun Yan Zi. In the music concept, does not emphasize the deliberate breakthroughs and changes, so that the focus returns to the original point, attempting to present a real unique girl, a pure and profound music, low-key and full of moving force of the opening, a new outline of the singer's charisma and unique market positioning, but also towards the beginning of a new stage and the continuation of the important key.
Under the operation of Li Yusheng, Li Weisheng, and Sun Yanzi's own participation in the production, the whole album's music style:
Backlight, mid-plank light rhythm with Yanzi her powerful but sure vocal line, the piano as the main base, together with a lot of chorus and strings, give people a feeling of seeing the hope of hearing a new hope of Yanzi.
What I miss and the swirl of empathetic lyrics, in the storytelling structure, there are ordinary but empathetic emotions, is a highly ****ing lyric, the swirl of deep emotions, <never say, I love you, so much .... >, and even more movingly poignant.
Sleepwalking is a medium-slow version of the song with a virginal atmosphere, a special classical atmosphere, the arrangement structure of the main terrier of the small sonata, there is a kind of elegant temperament, "the future is always mysterious, there are storms, there is good weather, you once could choose to give up easily, thank you did not forget to be yourself...DALA ....DALA.... Need You, a quiet love song with a simple melody that is highly memorable, utilizes a chorus written in jumping notes to create a pulling feeling of emotion, and is an extremely easy song to sing.
Tranquil, calm and quiet unplugged love song, suitable for listening quietly in a night of one's own, starting with two simple electric guitars, and Vocal with each other, giving a refreshing but deep emotion, adding a little rhythm and piano, but will not be and Vocal performance of the backbone, but more of a life.
