(1) Weeding, leaf picking and flower picking: About one month after planting, the dead leaves will be removed when the floating leaves wither. Before sealing the lotus leaves, combine topdressing with weeding, and walk on both sides of the rolled leaves when weeding. The buds or flowers of lotus root will consume a lot of nutrients, but the lotus root will easily rot after being picked by rain, and the branches will often bend if not picked.

(4) Adjust water level: from sowing to emergence, shallow water of about 5 ~ 10 cm should be poured to improve ground temperature and facilitate emergence. With the growth of vertical leaves and branches, the water layer should be gradually deepened to 15 ~ 20 cm, and shallow irrigation should be done during lotus root stage and before harvest.
(5) Straightening the lotus root: In June, the lotus root vines grow rapidly around, so it is necessary to straighten the vines manually. At noon, dig up the mud and pull up the lotus root vine, turn its head to blank and bury it in the soil.
