A little tip written in front
1. Thai baht is recommended to be exchanged in domestic China banks, and the exchange rate is the most cost-effective. If it is not enough, the exchange rate of Ningman Road Exchange Store will generally be higher than that of the ancient city.
2. The queuing time of the visa on arrival is long, so it is recommended to get the visa in advance. It is suggested that Taobao find "100 cities". Com "to apply for a visa.
3. Tourism in Thailand is dominated by temples, and the dress code is strict. Do your homework in advance.
4. Recommend several mobile apps: Google Maps (in a country where you can drive motorcycles freely, you deserve it); Tripadvisor (Catwalk Eagle, the owl logo everywhere in Chiang Mai, food guide, much more practical than public comments); Eat, drink and be merry in Chiang Mai (a raiders software that domestic tourists like and a friendly partner of Han Chiang Mai Travel Agency); As for Ctrip and Honeycomb, it depends on personal preference.
The Quaker's name for Sunday
In order to save travel expenses, we chose to take AirAsia's red-eye flight from Guangzhou to Chiang Mai at 00:05 a.m. and transfer in Bangkok. We need to spend the night at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok.
AirAsia Tips (for friends who have never been on AirAsia)
Before departure, AirAsia needs to print the boarding pass and show your pre-printed e-ticket and baggage claim form at the AirAsia counter at the airport (AirAsia will send you an email after booking, and check in online about 10 days in advance). The staff will print the boarding pass to Bangkok and check in for you. Airasia flights from abroad can board the plane directly by e-ticket, so you only need to show the pre-printed e-ticket to fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, and the checked baggage can go directly to Chiang Mai without picking up the goods halfway. At Bangkok airport, be careful not to leave the airport and take the connecting passage. When you arrive at Chiang Mai Airport, you must pay attention to the staff holding signs in the aisle. They will write down your name and tell you which direction to pick up your luggage, which is different from other places where passengers pick up their luggage directly. (We didn't pay attention, we almost missed it (|||)) It's super cold at Don Muang Airport in Bangkok in the early morning. Remember to bring more clothes!
When we arrived in Chiang Mai, we asked the staff to call a taxi at the taxi service center opposite the airport exit, took the bus ticket written by the staff, got on the bus and went to the unified 250B in the ancient city. Our first destination is a massage shop for women's prisons recommended by friends, which is at the crossroads behind the Three Kings Monument. It was already 1 1 when we arrived (the number of massage shops is limited, remember to arrive as early as possible! )
On the way, we walked to the nearby "Han Chiang Mai Travel Agency" and booked tickets for a one-day trip to Jungle Leap, Chiang Rai and Baixian. Travel agencies provide shuttle service, and the overall price is similar to that booked by Ctrip. Fluent Chinese at the front desk, barrier-free communication.
1 o'clock, we returned to the massage parlor on time. According to the online introduction, this massage shop was opened to help the service personnel find jobs again. Technicians are service personnel and charge 200B hours. The price is very cheap and the ironing is very comfortable, which left an excellent impression on us who just arrived in Chiang Mai.
After the massage, we took two buses to Ningman Road to check into the hotel. This hotel named Chanet is a loft-style hotel, located next to the mango tango among internet celebrities. The decoration is very distinctive and the front desk is very warm. The only drawback is that there is no elevator.
Of course, the first thing we have to do after we put down our luggage is
I didn't go anywhere in the afternoon because I didn't sleep well at the airport the night before. Getting more sleep is the most important thing.
In the evening, I strolled through Ningman Road and walked into a restaurant named khunmercuisine(Kunmo) located on 17th Street in Ningman. I was surprised to find clear soup, chicken rice and rice noodles all delicious.

the next day
The next day, we plan to visit the Shuanglong Temple in Sutieshan. We asked the hotel front desk how to arrive in advance. MM at the front desk said it would be cheaper to go to Chiang Mai University by double chartered bus. We took a double shuttle bus directly to Chiang Mai University on Ningman Road, with two people 80B. After arriving at the main entrance of the university, I happened to see a two-car driver soliciting passengers up the mountain and going back and forth from Su Tieshan to the university 160B. If you go back to Ningman Road, 40B will be added for two people.
Su Tieshan is basically a mountain road with many sharp bends, and it takes about half an hour to drive. But thanks to the skill of the driver, I threw up as soon as I got off the bus. The driver told us that the tour time was one and a half hours and he was waiting for us in the parking lot. Shuanglong Temple charges foreigners a maintenance fee of 20 pounds per person. The whole Shuanglong Temple is resplendent and commanding, and you can also see the panoramic view of downtown Chiang Mai. It was really an eye-opener.
After coming down from Sushan, we asked the hotel MM to rent a motorcycle for us. The rent is 270 pounds a day, and you need to sign a passport. After renting a car, we set off for lunch. We originally planned to go to Anchan noodles to eat blue noodles as recommended in the Raiders. As a result, after sitting down, I found the wrong restaurant called Anchan, which is a vegetarian restaurant. I don't want to move, because I'm so hungry. Who knows, open the menu, only English and Thai, no pictures. I don't understand (|||); I had to open the catwalk eagle APP and point to some pictures on the APP. As soon as the food was served, I found the color very beautiful and beautiful. I found it delicious after tasting it! Eat skillfully! It is worth mentioning that it is the seventh restaurant in Chiang Mai.
-Address: opposite to soi 13, nimmanahaeminda Road.
After lunch, about 3 o'clock. While there was still time, we decided to take a motorcycle tour around the ancient city and visit the most famous Chaidilong Temple in the ancient city. There are not many tourists in the afternoon, and the sun sets. The stupa looks dazzling, which is a good time to take pictures. In front of the stupa, people feel so small. Looking at this historic building, I feel awe.
This is the main hall of Chaidilong Temple, where monks sit neatly and recite scriptures, followed by devout believers.
In the evening, we returned to Maya Shopping Mall on Ningman Road. I saw a tour guide say that a DharaDhevi was selling a good almond biscuit. Inadvertently brushing Weibo, I found an open-air terrace on the top floor of Maya with a panoramic view of Ningman Road. There are two bars on the terrace, where many local young people sprinkle dog food. Attention! On the way back to the hotel, we went to the online celebrity shop next to the hotel, which is called "Xu Liushan of Thailand" and tasted various mango desserts.
-Address: Nimmanahaeminalane9 Suthepmuean
On the left is DharaDhevi's almond cake combination, with free flavors, 200B for six, but too sweet; Mango glutinous rice from Wang You celebrity store Mango Tango is a little more delicious than that from roadside stalls. Taking pictures is ok, but it is not recommended.
the third day
On the third day, we will carry out the most anticipated jungle leap project in Chiang Mai. We are playing the most popular route, jungle flight, which is very attractive when we look at the introduction. I made a reservation at Hanchiangmai Travel Agency before. At 8 o'clock, the driver arrived at the gate of our hotel on time. The place where the jungle leaps is in the suburban mountainous area. It takes about an hour to drive from the hotel.
Upon arrival, the staff will guide you to put your belongings in the storage box, and then ask everyone to sign a "life and death form". If full name follow-up service is needed, two people will give it to 1800B. Considering that we will not take the mobile phone to leap, we request this service. Then we had a team of nine people, led by a coach, an assistant and a follower, and began to leap!
The coach is very nice and can speak English and a little Mandarin. Everyone felt nervous before jumping, and some said they were afraid of heights. But when the coach flew over the first platform, we could see that everyone was relaxed. Because the safety measures are really sufficient and the coach is very professional, he will always guide and help you. No weightlessness, no fear at all. Besides, flying from one tree to another feels really cool. The most active are the 400-meter and 1000-meter ropeways, which are super exciting. It is recommended to crack the wall. This is definitely a must-see for me when I come to Chiang Mai!
Everyone had a good time after jumping in the jungle. After lunch, they set foot on their way home. Back to the hotel on Ningman Road, we packed our bags and took two buses directly to Coco Palm Inn in the ancient city. This hotel has a convenient location and a good feeling in the courtyard of the community. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to Tapemen. There are many restaurants and shopping shops nearby, next to the main road of the ancient city. In the evening, we went to the Tower Gate. There are many pigeons in Tumen Square, and there are small vendors selling feed beside them. We bought a small bag of feed, which can help you make pigeons fly collectively, and also make pictures and provide free photo service.
It was getting dark, so we chose an Italian restaurant called UgoBarRestaurant next to the tape door for dinner. We went specially for it. Its ranking on Catway Eagle is 1 1, and it ordered two spaghetti, two drinks and a salad, which was much bigger than we expected! I can't finish it myself, and it's not expensive and tastes good! Recommended!
-Address: No.47 Mengwen Road, next to Tapa Boxing Hall.
After dinner, go straight to Taipei Gate. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Changkang Road Night Market. Weekend night market is open on weekends, but Changkang Road is open every day. Those who can't catch up with the weekend night market can visit here. Passing Rotee, a stall selling banana pancakes. The stall owners are three grandparents. There is a small team in front of the booth. I quickly bought one to try. That's so sweet.
The fourth day
On the fourth day, we signed up for a one-day tour in Chiang Rai, and the bus picked us up at 7 am. One-day tour is a van tour, 10 people or so, which is quite comfortable. The tour guide is fluent in English and can speak simple Chinese. The usual route of the Qing delegation is to visit the Black Temple in the morning and the White Temple in the afternoon, with a simple lunch. There is one drawback. On the way through Changjing Village, our tour fee does not include visiting Changjing Village. However, if the person in the same car has signed up for the tour, we will have to wait until he has finished the tour, which will delay some time.
It's about three hours' drive to Chiang Rai. The full name means that the road is flat and comfortable to sit on, so you don't need to take motion sickness medicine. Let's go to the Black Temple first. The Black Temple is a museum of a famous local artist, with a collection of various animal bones and a bunch of strange things. It's a place full of imagination and art, but I don't quite understand it anyway. It's good to open your eyes.
After lunch, we set out for the White Temple. We have seen many pictures of the White Temple on the Internet before, and think it is a beautiful temple. But when you come to the scene and witness this work of art, all you can feel is shock. My wife was very shocked. It is a rare large-scale work of art and is definitely one of the essences of Chiang Mai tourism. You can't stop looking! Entering the gate of the scenic spot, taking photos all the way, crossing the bridge of hell and entering the temple, I felt that I had experienced a reincarnation and was very moved. We always feel that one hour's browsing time is a little short. In addition, there is a golden toilet in the scenic spot. Going to the toilet is too luxurious. This is a long experience. The tour guide said that with tickets, you can get a brochure about the White Temple at the information desk, which has a Chinese version. After visiting the White Temple, return to Chiang Mai and stay at Cocoa Palm Inn at night.
After riding for more than six hours, I feel a little tired. The first thing I did when I returned to the ancient city was to go to LILA near the hotel for a herbal massage. I spent about 80 RMB in one and a half minutes, which was much more comfortable at once, but I think the price/performance ratio is not as good as that of the women's prison ().
Fifth day
On the fifth day, we set out for Pai County. We bought tickets in Chiang Mai very early and took the van of Prempracha'.
It's 762 bends away from Paixian County, Chiang Mai 133km. The roads are all asphalt, but the roads are rugged. Friends who are prone to carsickness, please bring your own carsickness medicine! Remember to take motion sickness medicine! Remember to take motion sickness medicine! Remember to take motion sickness medicine! Suggestion! It takes about 3 hours by car. After arriving at the station, I immediately bought a return ticket for tomorrow. I found it only 14 pm, so I decided to buy it.
We booked Montis Resort in Baixian County, which is a resort hotel. The environment is so good and comfortable that I want to stay in the hotel and can't go out. There are golf carts inside and outside the hotel. If you want to go to PAI County, a van will be arranged to take you there. The service is too thoughtful.
For lunch, we found an online recommended restaurant in the city, Nong Beer Restaurant. The taste is very general. Green papaya salad is a fighter in dark cuisine. After lunch, we rented a motorcycle in the motorcycle shop next to the station. It's only 200 yuan a day What a bargain!
We drove freely on the expressway in Paixian County, punched cards along the punching line, and took pictures through the inverted huts, tree swings and small yellow houses.
In the evening, we go directly to the night market to find dinner. Paixian Night Market is much more interesting than Changkang Road Night Market. We sold a lot of food along the way. We saw a Chinese mother's food stall recommendation on the Internet and ordered cold yellow noodles, which was delicious. I tried another local wonton, which was delicious.
sixth day
In the morning, we struggled to get up at 5 o'clock and drove our motorcycles to Yunlai observation deck to watch the sunrise! It's chilly all the way. It turns out that Thailand also has winter! Yunlai observation deck is not far from our hotel. On the way through China village, the roar of motorcycles broke the original tranquility of the village. "Yunlai", as its name implies, is a group of people who come from Yunlai to settle here. Going to the observation deck to watch the sunrise is 20 pounds per person. I'll give you a pot of tea after buying the ticket. If necessary, you can also order breakfast, steamed bread porridge and the like.
When we arrived, all the seats were basically full. Then wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
We have to go to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we rode a motorcycle to continue our unfinished punch-in trip yesterday, and went to strawberry orchard, World War II Bridge and so on. There are few people on the road, so you can shoot all kinds of road styles at will. We like the feeling of freedom.
After playing cards and having lunch, I embarked on a journey back to the ancient city. The driver drove so fast that I vomited again. The first thing to do when returning to the ancient city is to go to Tapemen to collect materials for tomorrow's Chiang Mai Marathon and stay at Nai Boutique Hotel near Tapemen. The hotel is Thai, which is very distinctive.
At night, walk south along the moat for about 10~ 15 minutes, and arrive at wuallai Road where Saturday night market is located. It's a pity that I didn't feel the biggest Sunday night market when I left Chiang Mai on Sunday afternoon. The night market on Saturday is very lively. The whole wuallai Road is full of vendors selling all kinds of special things. The night market is very big, and we had a good time along the way. Finally, our feet were a little tired, and we didn't reach the finish line. Suggestion! When you see something you like in the night market and the price is ok, start. Don't think about buying it when you come back, because the case has been closed when you come back!
Seventh day
It's finally time to run the Chiang Mai Marathon. As a matter of fact, we decided on this trip to Chiang Mai in advance. Later, we found that it collided with the annual Chiang Mai Marathon on February 18. We have never run a marathon before, so we decided to join in the fun. We signed up through Yirun.com, China. Although it is only a 3-kilometer mini-run, we are determined to participate. hahaha.
Marathon clothes are black, in order to commemorate the Thai king to change the previous color. Before I left, my friend said that the king of Thailand had just died and it would be chaotic. Don't go. But Chiang Mai is actually very safe. Don't worry, Thailand has a high safety index.
The 42km runner started running at 5 o'clock. At 7 o'clock, people basically ran half a horse. But when we reached the starting point,
On the way to running, you can always see cheerleaders organized by various schools cheering for the players. Suddenly, I was infected by this enthusiastic country! 3km runs very fast, and we think we can actually sign up for 7km because we are not tired at all! You can get medals as soon as you run to the finish line, and there are food and drinks at the supply point.
Today is the last day of our trip. In order to avoid leaving regrets, we decided to experience the local SPA in Thailand. After careful selection of various recommended software, we finally chose the deep relaxation SPA, which costs about 400 RMB per person for 2 hours. In fact, the SPA is a traditional Thai essential oil massage, but it is comfortable enough to fall asleep.
After finishing the SPA, we found Kanjana in northern Thailand nearby according to the food recommendation of Maodaoying. Apart from delicious Thai noodles, I think several other Thai dishes are quite good. I recommend them!
Address: No.7/2 ratchadamnoen Road, District 5, Suyi.
In the afternoon, we rented a motorcycle and visited the remaining two of Chiang Mai's three temples, Walchman and Pasin Temple. These two temples have their own characteristics. Vaxiangman is a temple with a sense of the times, and Pasin Temple is the highest-ranking temple in Chiang Mai. The stupa is magnificent, which is different from that seen in Shuanglong Temple.
At the end of the trip, we bought letters from Boots and Herb near the tape door and returned the car. After checking out, the driver in charge of Hanoi airport came to pick us up on time. At the airport, I really can't stand the fun in Chiang Mai, the massage and delicious food in Chiang Mai, and the warm and friendly people in Chiang Mai! See you in Chiang Mai! Looking forward to our next meeting in Chiang Mai!
Travel summary
We went there in December. The weather in Chiang Mai is not as hot as that in Bangkok. We can wear long-sleeved clothes, but it's sunny. Pay attention to sun protection and be cool at night.
2. AirAsia flights to Chiang Mai are the cheapest in Hong Kong and Macau, and the flight time in Macau is very good.
Change as much money as you can, because there are too many delicious and interesting things. Of course, many shops can pay by credit card and Alipay.
It is necessary to massage the chicken in Thailand, otherwise it will be done in vain.
5. Chiang Rai is highly recommended. Be sure to go! There is also a leap in the jungle, which is so exciting and worth experiencing!
6.Herb's aromatherapy essential oil products are very good, affordable and good for giving away.
7. It doesn't matter if the restaurant can't find the shop recommended in the Raiders. It won't be too bad to go into a store casually, and it can save time in finding a store. Anyway, we have several meals that are solved in this way.
Chiang Mai Airport is very small, so don't expect to buy all handwritten letters at the airport. When shopping, buy the right one first.
