What does "lizuo" mean?
Lizao distributed in Dongxinzhuang, Longju Township, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, is an important fresh-eating tree species. The fruit is pear-shaped, with an average single fruit weight of 28.5g and a maximum fruit weight of 57g. The surface of the fruit is uneven, the skin is thick, reddish, the meat is green and white, the texture is loose, and the juice is sweet. The sugar content of fresh jujube is 22.25%, the acid content is 0.368%, the core is large, and the edible rate is 96.93%. The tree is in moderate potential. Although the branches are thick, the tapering degree of the branches is small, and the result is easy to droop. The tree is big, enters the fruiting period early, and has high and stable yield. The highest yield per plant can reach 100 kg, and the jujube head is stout, accounting for 45% of the total fruit number. The crown is chaotic and the trees droop. Adult trees are 6m high and 5m× 6m in crown width. Jujube head branches are brownish red, with large and sparse lenticels and gray-white protrusions. Generally, there are 3 ~ 8 jujube pendants, which are 13.5 ~ 28 cm long and have sparse flowers. Each inflorescence has 1 ~ 5 flowers, and jujube has 13 ~ 20 leaves, which are ovoid, 3.9 ~ 5.9 cm long, 2 ~ 2.9 cm wide and pointed at the apex. It germinates in Shanxi in mid-April, blooms in late May and matures in early October. Lizao is big and suitable for dwarf and close planting. This variety has higher requirements for fertilizer and water than other varieties, and is suitable for large-scale planting in plains, fertile soil and urban areas.
