This species is a tree, the bark is gray-brown or black-brown, smooth, with a cinnamon scent, the leaves are simple, irregularly opposite or scattered, leathery, ovate or long elliptic, 6-10 centimeters long, green above, pale green below, off the base of the tricuspidate veins, with a short petiole, the inflorescences are terminal and axillary, the flowers are small, greenish-white, the tepals are 6, long elliptic, hairy on both sides, the stamens are 9, the anthers are 4-celled. Fruit ovoid, ca. 8 cm. Fruiting receptacle with remnants of tepals.
