The next day, the mung beans in the jar with the wet paper towel grew tiny shoots, the mung beans in the jar with the dry paper towel grew smaller shoots, and the mung beans in the other jar with water grew nothing.

On the third day, the mung bean sprouts in the jar with the wet paper towel grew taller, the mung bean sprouts in the jar with the dry paper towel grew only a little taller, and the mung bean sprouts in the jar with the water grew tiny shoots.

On the fourth day, the mung bean sprouts in the wet paper towel jar grew a small, tender leaf, and it was lovely!

But why did the same plants grow at different rates in the three jars? It turns out that this is closely related to temperature, humidity and air.
