After being poisoned by eating food containing bacteria or toxins, children usually suffer from nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, etc., and most of them are accompanied by fever. Severe food poisoning may cause cold limbs, pale face, sweating, convulsions, bruising, etc. in a short period of time, and may even be life-threatening. If you eat food with botulinum toxin, it will be even worse. In addition to gastrointestinal symptoms, the child may also have drooping eyelids, dilated pupils, unable to see clearly or seeing one object as two; Difficulty speaking, swallowing, and breathing, and a drop in body temperature; if not treated quickly, death often results. After eating vegetables that have not been pickled thoroughly, in addition to the general symptoms of poisoning mentioned above, the skin and mucous membranes will also appear purple.
To prevent food poisoning in children, please pay attention to the following points:
1. Do not eat spoiled food such as discoloration, odor, or odor. Leftover rice must be boiled and stored after eating, and cooked again before the next meal.
2. Do not eat meat from diseased pigs, cows, sheep, dogs and poultry.
3. Don’t eat wild vegetables and mushrooms you don’t recognize.
4. Pickles must be thoroughly pickled. Do not eat pickled vegetables that have been pickled for less than 10 days. When eating cold dishes in summer, you must choose fresh vegetables, wash them with water, blanch them in boiling water, add salt, wine and vinegar, and mix them before eating.
5. If you eat puffer fish, frogs, toads, etc., you must ask an experienced person to remove the poisonous parts and wash them before eating.
6. Do not give large amounts of ginkgo to children. Some children under 1 year old died after eating 10 ginkgo. Also do not give the kernels of the fruits mentioned above to children.
7. Do not use utensils containing general medicines or pesticides to hold food.
When it is discovered that a child has food poisoning, if vomiting does not occur, you can use your fingers, chopsticks, or toothbrush handles wrapped in soft cloth to press the base of the child's tongue, or gently stir his throat to induce food poisoning. Vomit, spit out the poison as quickly as possible.
