1. General treatment
Improve sanitary conditions, prevent insect bites, remove relevant inducements, and avoid local irritation.
2. Commonly used methods for treating prurigo nodularis:
(1) Local treatment ① Various dosage forms of glucocorticoids or tar preparations can be used externally. (2) Systemic treatment ①The application of antihistamines and sedative and hypnotic drugs is the same as that of chronic lichen simplex. They can be used alone or in combination according to the severity of itching. ②Thalidomide has poor effect when used alone. ③Immunosuppressants, such as cyclosporine A and azathioprine, have certain efficacy in treating refractory nodular prurigo. ④Those with obvious hyperplasia and hard skin lesions can take retinoid ester, 3 times a day, or isotretinoin, 1 to 2 times a day.
(3) Physical therapy such as cryotherapy, electrocautery, and laser therapy also have certain effects.
