I read a few articles about traditional Chinese medicine in the morning. I searched for a few books about traditional Chinese medicine through WeChat Reading, and then I remembered that I still have a set of "The Wisdom of Going Home to Eat" by Teacher Chen Yunbin at home. .
This was also forced upon me last year by my friend who studies Chinese medicine, Mr. Liu, who wanted me to read more books on Chinese medicine. I took it back and read part of the content, and found it quite applicable. Moreover, this kind of book is not just a matter of reading it. It needs to be read out frequently. For people who are not Chinese medicine practitioners, the symptoms cannot be distinguished, so how can they remember them? So many recipes.
"The Wisdom of Going Home to Eat" has three volumes, divided into upper, middle and lower volumes. However, this set of books has been gathering dust on the bookshelf for a year since I bought it.
In the morning, I opened the first volume and read it first. When I read "Recipe for Reducing Fever - Silkworm Sand, Bamboo Ru, and Tangerine Peel Water", I regretted not taking advantage of this book earlier. Two weeks ago, my son still had a fever. He went to the hospital twice and took medicine for several days. The fever lasted four or five days. If he had used the fever-reducing prescriptions introduced in the book, his son might not have to suffer so much.
I read the first volume in one sitting today, but I still can’t remember it all. I will put the book in a convenient location, have a general understanding of the whole book, and read it at any time when needed. For now, let’s make some necessary food supplements.
People need to eat a lot in this life, and they cannot do without eating, drinking and sleeping every day. But many of us don’t know: what should be eaten in what environment, what should be eaten in which season, who should eat what, how to eat, when to eat, how much to eat, what to eat for what symptoms, etc.
Everything created by nature is just right, and there will never be any excess growth. The leftovers of food may not be so beautiful or delicious, but they are treasures that maintain our lives. Whether it is sweet or bitter, it has its value.
People who eat grains will suffer from all kinds of diseases. There are too many problems that we have caused ourselves. There are many chronic diseases that cannot be diagnosed even if we go to the hospital, but we just feel uncomfortable. When Western medicine is helpless, we can try the corresponding dietary prescriptions from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Chen Yunbin comes from a family of traditional Chinese medicine. He is a public nutritionist and an advocate and practitioner of simple diet therapy and timely health maintenance. Her maternal great-grandfather was a famous local doctor in the early 20th century who was charitable and charitable. Feeling that the poor at that time could not afford medical treatment and had no money to pay for medicine, which delayed minor illnesses into serious illnesses, he devoted himself to researching simple and low-cost dietary prescriptions, saving countless lives over the decades. With the approval of his parents and elders, Chen Yunbin compiled the family's dietary health care experience and folk remedies into a book. Many of the dietary remedies in the book are the brainchild of his ancestors' years of practice.
Influenced by my friend Teacher Liu, I have paid some attention to traditional Chinese medicine in the past two years. It is not because I want to concentrate on studying Chinese medicine, but mainly because I study and think about it for my children. If the mind is clear and the reaction is sensitive, when the child has a minor problem, such as the early stage of a cold, he will take immediate action, take a bath, drink some ginger and green onion water, and virtually eliminate the signs of illness. The child suffers less and does not need to take medicine.
Sometimes, when Teacher Liu is away, or when he is not working on weekends, and there is a shortage of needed Chinese medicine at home, I will call Teacher Liu, and then go to Teacher Liu’s shop by myself. Dispensing medications. Because Teacher Liu’s store is on the second floor of a drug store, and the drug store is open, her store is open. After telling the drug store staff, I went up by myself.
Some symptoms I can judge by myself, while others require remote assistance from Teacher Liu. Anyway, Teacher Liu tells me everything he knows, and sometimes he even gives me on-the-spot guidance on how to make judgments.
Of course, Chinese medicine is really profound and profound, and I only have a superficial understanding of it. Fortunately, we are eager to learn and like to read, haha. The book "The Wisdom of Eating at Home" introduces many dietary remedies that can be used directly.
(1) Recipe for reducing fever - silkworm excrement, bamboo root and tangerine peel water
Ingredients: 30 grams each of silkworm excrement, bamboo root and tangerine peel (reduce to 10 grams for young children).
These three herbs are relatively mild, and it doesn’t matter if you use more. My family keeps these medicines all year round. They used to be packed in sacks. When they were needed urgently, I would grab a handful of each and boil water. They were not accurate to the gram.
Method: Wash the tangerine peel, put it into the pot together with silkworm excrement and bamboo shoots, add cold water and cook. After the water boils, cook for 3 minutes.
Instructions: Take it when you have a cold or a high fever (fever exceeds 38.5℃ in adults and 39℃ in children).
Most people can reduce their fever after drinking it once. In severe cases, you can drink it two to three times. Once the fever subsides, you don’t need to drink it again.
A baby that is too young cannot drink too much medicine at one time. It is best to add less water and cook it thicker. Divide the feed into several feedings and drink once every 3 hours until the fever subsides.
The medicines in this recipe are quite safe and can be used by children and the elderly with confidence.
Important reminder: If the cold does not cause a high fever, but only a low fever, do not rush to reduce the fever at this time, and treat the cold according to syndrome differentiation such as wind-cold and wind-heat. This prescription can be used only if you have a high fever, which means that the disease has penetrated deep into the spleen and stomach and is not simply caused by external factors.
This recipe has been tried and tested for colds and fevers, but it is not effective for food accumulation. Houttuynia cordata tea will heal faster if you have a cold or cold, and burdock juice will help if you have tonsillitis.
(2) Sweet yellow mud: a dessert that increases children’s intelligence
Method:
(1) Take 10 eggs (this is for several people to eat together) The amount (if it is one person, it will be determined according to your own food intake), separate the egg yolk and egg white. Take only the egg yolk and stir it up.
(2) Put lard in the pot, add sugar, wait for the sugar to dissolve, then pour in the egg yolk liquid, stir quickly to form a paste, and then remove from the pot.
Note: Although egg yolk is the main raw material in this dish, lard and white sugar also play a role. If lard is replaced with other oils and white sugar with other sugars, the effect will be the same. no the same.
Egg yolk nourishes the heart and calms the nerves. Nourishing the heart nourishes the brain. Soothing the nerves actually supplements nutrients to the brain nerves. Why are children naturally active and disobedient? It’s because their parasympathetic nerves are not yet mature and are still growing. If the nerves receive insufficient nutrition, children are prone to ADHD or emotional instability. Boys are naughtier than girls because their neurological development is later. If a child's mind is stable, he will be more obedient, focused, and capable of learning.
Lard nourishes yin and moisturizes dryness, and can clear lung fire. Children are prone to heat accumulation in the lung meridian. Heat accumulation to a certain extent may manifest as dry cough, rash or constipation. Lard is moisturizing, which not only lubricates the intestines, but also dissolves toxins, allowing these hot toxins to be excreted through stool.
This dish must use lard to make it fragrant, and vegetable oil will be inferior. If you really don’t want to eat lard, you can use butter instead.
A small amount of white sugar can also clear lung fire and can relieve cough and promote fluid production. White sugar and brown sugar have different properties. Brown sugar is warm, while white sugar can clear away heat.
This dish will often appear on our dining table, and we look forward to the results! You can hold down my restless daughter!
(3) Chicken cheese soup: a qi-boosting and refreshing soup that even the elderly can drink
Ingredients: 10 egg whites, 100 grams of chicken breast, chicken broth, pea sprouts (not available Lettuce leaves or lettuce instead).
Method:
(1) Beat the remaining 10 egg whites from the sweet yellow mud with four or five chopsticks until they become foamy. Keep the chopsticks standing upright in the basin until they fall over.
(2) Pound the chicken breast with the back of a knife and cut it into fine pieces. The more minced the better.
(3) Bring the chicken soup to a boil, put in the minced chicken and stir it up so that the soup becomes thicker.
(4) Pour the beaten egg whites into the soup and stir. Turn off the heat when the egg whites turn into white tofu flakes.
(5) Place greens in the soup bowl, that is, wash the raw pea shoots, lettuce leaves or lettuce and put them in the soup bowl, pour the boiling soup in, and blanch the vegetable leaves until cooked. Chicken cheese soup is ready.
This soup looks very nice when served on the table. The chicken soup is clear, the bean sprouts are green, and the egg whites are white. They are like clouds floating on the surface of the soup, which is very attractive.
The most outstanding taste of chicken cheese soup is its freshness. Pea sprouts are the best garnishes. The unique fragrance of pea sprouts is a perfect match with chicken soup.
Note: Do not use vegetables with strong flavors, such as spinach, mugwort stalks, etc., otherwise the original flavor of the soup will be covered up.
As long as you drink chicken soup, you must pay attention to its freshness and do not add any seasonings, including salt. Don't add mushrooms, let alone MSG.
The biggest feature of chicken cheese soup is: there is no chicken when you eat it.
The chicken is melted in the soup, and it tastes fresh. It is not burdensome to the stomach and intestines. It is very suitable for the elderly with weak teeth and digestive function.
Tip: The chicken must be beaten with the back of a knife, otherwise it will not be velvety.
