Diabetes belongs to karma, and hospitals generally can't cure it. If you go to the hospital sick, the karma can only be solved by learning Buddha and chanting Buddha. Recently, a fellow initiate I knew had a blood sugar level of more than 16, which has never dropped. Later, I studied Buddhism, and now it is controlled at around 10, with a minimum of 8.8. If your friend believes in Buddhism, ask him to try.
