The composer of Super Mario is Koji Kondo, who is responsible for music production for many Nintendo games and is Nintendo’s ace composer.
Contra is created by KONANI’s exclusive game music composition group Kukeiha Club (Rectangular Wave Club).
In March 1987, AlphaRecord (G.M.O trademark) released [Konami Game Freaks], which was later composed of KONAMI music producers Furukawa Ryuya, Morimoto Yuri, and Funabashi Jun. Furukawa Ryu That is, the leader of the rectangular wave. KONAMI Rectangular Wave Club has been composed of dozens of people, headed by Ryuya Furukawa of Rectangular Wave. They were mainly active in KONAMI's live performances in the 1990s.
KONAMI’s early game music was completed by rectangular waves.
In January 2003, as Ryuu Furukawa, one of the original members, withdrew from KONAMI, the KONAMI Rectangular Wave Club officially announced its dissolution. After Ryuya Furukawa quit KONAMI, he became a freelance musician.
The Rectangular Wave Club has also produced music including Salamander and Castlevania, of course I am referring to FC.
Since Green Corps and Red Fortress are also produced by KONAMI, it is estimated that they also participated in the production of the music to some extent. Maybe it was made by them.
When talking about the music of Red Shadow Warrior, we must first mention the production company NATSUME, a god-level company for action games in the FC era. Some say they are made up of employees who switched jobs from KONAMI, but their styles are quite similar.
NATSUME has the Four Heavenly Kings of Music - Iku Mizutani, Hiroyuki Iwazuki, Yamashita Shiro, and Yuki Shanxi.
Their FC era works include Birdman Sentai, Energy Warriors, Miki Doji, Red Shadow Warriors, FINAL MISSION (commonly known as Air Contra) and so on. It is worth mentioning that Iku Mizutani and Yamashita Dai are both members of the rectangular wave club. So the talk of job hopping seems believable.
As for the Red Shadow Warrior, it seems that it was mainly made by Shanxi Yuki.
In the early days of FC, because the company was not large, there were not many people responsible for music production, and they were often in a team format, so you can still find them if you check carefully.
I also checked it out today after listening to the double-keyboard playing of Green Corps and Red Shadow Warrior on Youku, and it came in handy. These music are indelible memories, and I can’t describe the feeling in my heart when I listen to them. Hope the above is helpful to you. Let’s all have fun together.
